Abstract: EBP to Certification Success• Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) Programs at three campusesinstituted an Evolve HESI APRN FNP specialty exam testingbetween 2005 and 2007.• Methods: An electronic survey was sent to students who tookthe FNP exam between 2005 and 2007. Student outcomes onthe Evolve exam, and the American Nursing CredentialingCenter (ANCC) or American Academy of Nurse Practitioner(AANP) certification test results were compared.• Results: The predictive validity of the HESI scores forstudents achieving scores >800 on the exams with their ANCCor AANP certification exam outcomes was again evaluated foraccuracy, and the data analysis indicated acceptable andrecommended scoring levels.• Conclusion: The standardized FNP and ANP exams wereeffective in assessing students’ preparedness for the specialtyaccreditation exams and also provided evidenced-basedmeasures of curricular outcomes.
