Congratulations CHS Trap Team! You represented CHS well! On Saturday, April 28 th ,Trap Coach John Hash, 9 Crane High School (CHS) shooters and their families (a.k.a CHS Trap Team’s cheering section) traveled to Linn Creek, MO for the State Trap Shooting competition. The State competition included the following team categories: 4H, FFA, High School, High School Open, Jr. High, Jr. High Open, and Ladies Open. The overall State competition comprised of 764 shooters and 156 squads. The CHS Trap Team competed against 20 teams (120 shooters) in the High School category; they placed 9 th at State. Senior Kyle Good Job At State! Roder shot a pair of 25/25 “birds” earning him a score of 98/100. His score landed him in a shoot-off against 4 other Seniors. This was Kyle’s second year to be in a shoot-off. Kyle placed 5 th at State this year. Senior Dakota Marshall and Sophomore Chandler King both shot 25/25 “birds”, each scoring 92/100, Junior Jakob Hicks hit 86/100 “birds”, Preston McHolland shot 83/100, Freshman Bryston McHolland shot 86/100, Sophomore Aaron Williams hit 83/100, Freshman Dalton Steele shot 75/100, and Junior Abby Hultz hit 61/100 “birds”. CHS Trap Team thanks everyone for the support and encouragement! 2012 Draw Boat Winners Congratulations To Kris And Kevin Bowling The highlight of this wonderful event was when a little boy named Conner took center stage for the drawing of the 2012 Nitro Z6 bassboat with a value of over $20,000. Conner, a former Wish recipient and cancer survivor had the entire crowd on their toes while he dug into the bucket of key bobs and later pulled out the winning bobber belonging to Kris and Kevin Bowling of Aurora and Crane, Missouri. The Kansas Speedway tickets, also drawn by Conner, were awarded to Jody Hughes of Gravois STONE COUNTY COMMISSION AGENDA Mondays The County Commission meets on Mondays to conduct routine county business, informally holds meetings and discussions with officeholders, employees, the general public, and others. Tuesdays and Thursdays The County Commission conducts public hearings and receives public input on Tuesdays and Thursdays, usually beginning at 9:00 a.m. and, after a lunch recess, reconvening at 1:00 p.m. At the conclusion of the scheduled agenda, the public is offered an opportunity to address the County Commission. On Tuesdays and Thursdays the County Commission Mills, Missouri. Although, not everybody could be the winner of the drawboat, the other participants were flooded with other various door prizes from local and national sponsors that included fishing and boating products, lodging, meals and entertainment tickets from the Branson area, just to name a few. The hard work and dedication of Tournament Directors Kevin and Laura Watson along with Ron Kelley really shined this day as their efforts were easily seen by everyone at the event. For devotional Judie read, “God Alone”, and “What is a Friend.” Carol read “A Perfect Day” and “Faith” and Betty read “What is a Grandparent?” Carol gave the prayer before the meal. Much visiting was done. The June meeting is scheduled to be with Judy. Jessie opened her hostess gifts. But members of Table Rock Lake Squadron 147 of the Civil Air Patrol had been invited by the Tri-Lakes Radio Controlled Aircraft Club to come out for a picnic and to fly radio controlled planes, so 13 members of the Squadron met at the field at 9:00 a.m. After just a short time, the weather cleared and the sun came shining through and it made a great day for flying. Jim Haney, President of Tri-Lakes RC Club was on hand to welcome the squadron members along with several other fliers from the club. Among some of the planes were a B-25J and a Hobbistar FAR60 MK11, all of which beautifully made and exciting to watch in action. Throughout the entire day, there was only one RC plane casualty and that was a Trainer belonging to Mr. Howard Shire, an instructor at the Club. His Trainer was circling the sky when its battery died, and ultimately it crashed into the concrete drive severely damaging the aircraft. In speaking with Mr. Shine, he said simply, “Sometimes that happens.” But we sure wish it hadn’t happened to his plane. He was upbeat about it and indicated he would begin rebuilding immediately. Better luck to him next time. At lunchtime, the Civil Air Patrol was asked to raise the flag which is always a moving and heartwarming sight to see. Lt. Col. Ed Leonard and Cadet 2nd Lt. Aiden Olivea had the honor of raising the flag with others standing at attention or saluting. After the flag ceremony, a hot dog picnic and flying show took place, as several of the members of the RC Club performed with their planes. Members of the CAP were also able to fly several planes and a once cloudy day turned into a sun filled and fun filled event. Members from the CAP attending are: (At the flagpole) Cadet 2nd Lt. Olivea and Lt. Col. Leonard, and in formation (left to right are) Cadet Woodruff, Cadet Cooper, Cadet Nelson, Capt. Fletcher, Lt. R. Olivea, Lt. Warren and Capt. Martin. Not pictured are Capt. Stone and Lt. L. Redfield. CAP would like to thank the entire group at Tri-Lakes RC Flying Club for its hospitality and for being a part of working with young men and women in the area to encourage aerospace education.
