The school has capitalised on the premises, activities and the resources of theLondon Muslim Centre to enrich the students and the teaching & learning environment.The centre provides the students with a much valued identity and they have come toappreciate the great part it plays in their lives. The School is fully equipped with up-todateresources and apparatus necessary to teach all the subjects to a high standard. Thepurpose built classrooms are equipped with modern technology that includesinteractive white boards. In addition to standard classroom facilities the school has apurpose built science lab; fully equipped ICT suite and a library with books and audiovisualmaterials. The London East Academy, the secondary provision is based on thesecond floor of the LMC, whilst Al Mizan Primary, is just above the East London Mosquein 94 Whitechapel Road. Its newly furnished classrooms have brand new facilities toprovide good quality education.Class rooms• Interactive white boards and projectors• Well equipped modern Science laboratory• ICT suite with latest PCs and printing facilities.Lunch facilitiesThe children may bring Food Flasks or a packed lunch. The schools have recently formedpartnership with external caterers to provide hot meals. Parents and pupils can orderlunches directly from the caterers. More details are available from the schools office.Secondary students usually have their lunch in 1st floor hall of LMC and the Al Mizanstudents have lunch in their classrooms.‘The premises provide both good quality accommodation and safe learningenvironment’. Ofsted, April 2011.Recreational facilities• 2 large halls and 1 medium sized hall for students to use for play time duringmorning/afternoon break;• The facilities at the Whitechapel sports centre are hired for P.E. lessons;• Annual sports day event at the Mile End Stadium and Football grounds.• Swimming provisions for Primary year 4 is held at the St Georges pool.Prayer facilities• Students use the East London Mosque basement prayer hall for obligatory prayersthat fall within the school hours. Students must not leave before praying after the Azan.Al Mizan students use varying venues depending on availability and timing of salah.
