IGS RUGBY 2013GPS FIXTURES 2013On game days all boys must arrive at least 45 minutes before kick-off in the correct playing are. If boys wish toremain behind to watch the First XV, they must get changed into their winter school uniform. Do not bully or take advantage of anothercompetor.• Co-operate with your coach, team mates, opponents and officials. Without them there would be no compeon.• Respect the rights, dignity and worth of all parcipants regardless of their ability, cultural background or religion.• Remember that verbal abuse of officials, sledging of other players and deliberately distracng or provoking anopponent, are not acceptable behaviours.5The Red Storm is coming in ₂₀₁₃
IGS RUGBY 2013TEACHERS AND COACHES - CODE OF BEHAVIOURTeachers and coaches are requested to:• Encourage players to display good sportsmanship and to parcipate within the spirit of the game always respectingthe importance of fair play.• Teach players the rules of the game and ensure they observe them.• Develop in players respect for opponents, officials and opposing coaches.• Provide posive feedback when players improve their skills or performance and help them acquire a sense ofachievement when this occurs.• Remember that compeve games are primarily for enjoyment and that winning is only part of the process.• Remember that players need a coach they can respect, so set a good example.• Ensure that any physical contact with a parcipant is appropriate to the situaon and necessary for the player’sskill development or safety.OFFICIALS - CODE OF BEHAVIOUROfficials are requested to:• Be consistent, objecve, courteous and without bias when making decisions.• Be posive and supporve in your behaviour and with your comments.• Place the safety and welfare of the players above all else.• Keep up to date with rule changes and with the latest trends in officiang.PARENTS AND SPECTATORS - CODE OF BEHAVIOURThe GPS Associaon warmly encourages the full and whole-hearted involvement and support ofparents and spectators.Parents are requested to:• Encourage your son to always play by the rules. The good example you set by respecng thedecisions of officials can do much to support this.• Develop in your son a commitment to honest effort in order to improve his skills and his personal performance.• Insll in your son the ability to accept losses and setbacks without undue disappointment.• Develop in your son an appreciaon and respect for fair play and encourage him to parcipate in a spirit of goodsportsmanship.• Applaud good play by your son’s team and by members of the opposing team.• Acknowledge the important role played by your son’s coach and give him your full support.• Remember that the compeve games your son plays are primarily organized for his benefit and enjoyment, notyours.• Please note that the use of bad language and the harassment of players, coaches, and officials has no place inGPS sport.The Red Storm is coming in ₂₀₁₃6
