The 2,824 linear feet ofCSP was placed at a cost of $53,549 . 50 or a weightedaverage cost of $18 . 96 per linear foot .Total cost ofthe pipe installation ,including end sections , was$63,371.50.In addition to the cost of total replacement by age54 years , replacing the pipe created another problem .It is very difficult to recompact a cut trench withoutgetting some settlement at a later date .installations have now settled andMost of thesethere is adepressionin the roadway surface which is noticeableto the traveling public .Project F-8- 1(9) Secs A and B, Route 8, CrawfordCounty was let to contract in June 1986. It wasprimarily a resurfacing project . The project was16.596 miles long . The CSP were originally installedon this project in 1937 .
