Saturday, February 23, 2013 marked the third time that such an event had been held. Indeed, if ye were anywhere near the Baymont Inn and Suites in Manchester, Connecticut between the hours of 6 and 10 pm that frostevening, ye probably heard the cries of laughter, the crescendo of music, and the clattering of countless rumbottles being emptied. Indeed you would have witnessed the unbridled carnal mayhem known as . . .KILL FOR THE RUMDIE BY THE BLADELIVING THE PYRATES WAYFor just a mere pittance of only $10, one could find themselves surrounded by fellowNew England area pirates and wenches, all there to share a dance, a laugh, a rum, somechow and to raise money for a couple of well-deserved charities.The hotel set aside a few banks of rooms at the discounted rate of $60.00 each to assistin bringing in the hundreds of mates who arrived to party.The light snacks available were more than enough to keep a hungry pyrate’s stomachsfilled and the call for folks to Bring Yer Own Booze, kept the price low and the enjoymenthigh.Entertainment was provided by The Bawdy buccaneers, The Crimson Pirates and TheBrigands. Master of Ceremonies was the likable pirate from the south, the legend knownas Cannibal Crispy! Even our own Commodore Black Fox was allowed to give a hurrahto The Brigands and tell one of his many lame pirate jokes.
