HE first snow storm of the season ushered in the Interclass Hockeymatches-Saturday m orning, December 6. The scores were: Seniors,5; Juniors, 3 ; Sophom ores, 8; Freshmen, 0.The whirling snow and the w hite fi eld blurred the plays to thespectators, and often to the players themselves, but it only enlivened theenthusiasm q.n cl fun of everybody. The contests were marked by a supe r­abundance of fouls, bunching and lost opportunities, all or m ost of whichwere clue to the condition of the fi eld. The constant slipping and falling ofthe players resulted in a decided lack of serious effort, and elimina ted allpossibility of good team work.In the second h alf of the Junior-Senior gam e, however, there was amarked improvement in the general playing.The Seniors won the hockey cup by defeating the Sophom ores w ith ascore of 6--3 in the champion ship game played Wednesday afternoon, December10.Every girl in <strong>College</strong> w ore a conspicuous "N" or "A," and follo·wedrespectively the g oat or the mule to the hockey field on November 22, inorder to witness the g reat Army-Navy hockey game. The fi eld ,,;as canopiedwith a monster Navy banner, which the ambitious rooters had hung by nig h tfrom a string reaching from V ingolf to Fensal. Other huge "A's" a nd "N's"wer e displayed in a ir. By 11.30 o'clock the field was ringing with the exuberantsongs and cheers which always attend this most exciting game of thehockey season.The two t eam s were wall match ed. T h ere was much indiv idual starring ,especially by the Navy players, among whom were H ilda Cohen, who repeatedlyfrustrated the efforts of the A rmy's forward line to score, and MargaretJ ones, w hose splendid clearing shots, time after time, returned the ball toh er forward line. T h e Army players, however, showed better team work ;the inner forwards playing together admirably.The final result favored the A rmy. It was 5-3, w ith the Navy losing.Two hundred end three
