Cleaner streams fora greener <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>.Since 2010, the <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> Liquor Corporation has been the proud sponsor<strong>of</strong> the NSLC Adopt-A-Stream program in partnership with the <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>Salmon Association.This past year, the NSLC’s annual pledge <strong>of</strong> $100,000 further contributed to therestoration and protection <strong>of</strong> waterways across <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>. As a result, NSLCAdopt-A-Streamhas expanded the geographic reach <strong>of</strong> the program to morecommunities, developed better planning and assessment tools, provided morehands-on training and supported innovation in restoration methods.We aren’t doing it alone. <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> anglers, through support <strong>of</strong> the <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong>Sportfish Habitat Fundand funding from <strong>Nova</strong> <strong>Scotia</strong> Fisheries and Aquaculture, alsocontributed to the great strides made by the NSLC Adopt-A-Streamprogram in 2012:Restoring 128,779 m 2 <strong>of</strong> stream habitat.Re-establishing 54 km <strong>of</strong> fish passage.Planting 10,614 streamside trees.Creating 99 seasonal field jobs.Contributing 6,474 volunteer hours.
