And <strong>Xenia</strong> Restaurant Week Effort<strong>Xenia</strong>, Ohio, October 17, 2013 The City of <strong>Xenia</strong> is happy to see the locally-grown communitygroup <strong>Xenia</strong> <strong>Eats</strong>! go beyond being a Facebook groupfocused on <strong>Xenia</strong>’s food scene to organizing a <strong>Xenia</strong>centeredRestaurant Week from November 3-9, 2013.<strong>Xenia</strong>’s City Manager Jim Percival said, “The <strong>Xenia</strong> <strong>Eats</strong>!group is helping us be aware that there are good eateries in<strong>Xenia</strong>. We just need to be reminded about them and urge<strong>Xenia</strong> citizens (and others) to dine within our city limits!” Ifyou haven’t tried a <strong>Xenia</strong> eatery lately, be sure to takeadvantage of the new <strong>Xenia</strong> <strong>Eats</strong>! sponsored restaurantweek.<strong>Xenia</strong> <strong>Eats</strong>! creator Scott Calhoun said, “We were surprised to learn ourselves that there areabout 20 local, independent eateries within <strong>Xenia</strong>’s borders. We decided to have a localRestaurant Week to promote staying in <strong>Xenia</strong> when you want to go out to eat.”Building community spirit by eating out with friends is one goal of restaurant week, Calhounsaid. Promoting growth is another. “<strong>Xenia</strong>’s dining scene may be small at the moment, but theeateries are proud of what they do and they have a loyal following. Supporting what we have is agreat way to encourage others to open up a restaurant in <strong>Xenia</strong>. It can show them we care andwill eat local.”<strong>Xenia</strong> <strong>Eats</strong>! is a Facebook page for restaurant reviews, sharing food news, and discussing allaspects of eating out and eating in. It has over five-hundred members.
