SARDINIA TOURThis trip offers the wonderful opportunityto visit one of the largely hidden treasuresof Italy that most people, even those whohave been to Italy many times before, willhave missed. Sardinia is a unique blend ofthe best of both Italy and Spain, havingbeen under Spanish rule for much of itscolourful history. Check-in, afternoonat leisure in the lovely resort to enjoyfacilities, and gourmet traditional dinner atthe hotelDAY 2 Monday 6 JuneEnjoy a leisurely breakfast before departingthe hotel and driving towards Olbia visitingthe Orgoloso, famous for its wall murals,en-route, before heading up into the hillsto have lunch with the Shepherds and aperformance of traditional music. Afterlunch visit the costume museum at Nuorobefore heading on to Olbia to check in toHotel Pozzo Sacro where the group willstay 2 nights.DAY 3 Tuesday 7 JuneThis is a full day with a trip to Corsica, andwill need to depart hotel at 8.30 to catchthe 10am ferry. Corsica is a French Protectorate,and whilst a rugged landscape,offers stunning views and some Frenchrefinement. The ferry ride is about 1 hrjourney and the arrival in to Bonifacioport is spectacular. Once disembarkedproceed on a walking tour of the Old Cityof Bonifacio- former home of the FrenchForeign legion with a little tourist trainfor the climb to the top of the hill, thenwinding down hill as tour proceeds visitingthe Citadel en-route. Then lunch at ownarrangement at the port where there is avast choice of restaurants and cafes. Spendthe rest of the afternoon exploring further,shopping in elegant stores or simply sit andenjoy a coffee watching the activities of thisbusy harbour and all its amazing yachts etcbefore departing back to the ferry for the5.00pm boat. On arrival in SantaTeressadi Gallura (Sardinian port) enjoy a scenicdrive back to hotel. Overnight Hotel PozzoSacro.DAY 4 Wednesday 8 JuneDeparting the hotel to drive to Castlecastro,travelling through Cork plantations,wild flowers and scenic views -visit the Castleand basket museum and coffee stop inCastlecastro before heading on to the smallwalled village of Bozzo with a lunch stopbefore heading to on to Alghero arrivinglater in the afternoon. After some time torelax and maybe enjoy a swim in the pool,enjoy dinner and overnight at CalabonaHotel (2 nights)DAY 5 Thursday 9 JuneToday offers a half day tour exploring thehighlights of Alghero, which is a historicwalled town on the sea front and has a labyrinthinenetwork of narrow lanes, datingback to the days of pirates, most of whichare free from vehicles. After a panoramicdrive to enjoy the surrounding area includinggrotto views, Lunch at La Pergola.The afternoon provides the opportunity toexplore further or just relax. Overnight atAlghero at Calabona HotelDAY 6 Friday 10 JuneAfter breakfast depart Alghero heading forCagliari visiting Baramina archaeologicalsite en-route. Enjoy a wonderful seafoodlunch at Ristorante Belledda then sit backand relax for a scenic drive to Cagliari.Dinner in Cagliari and overnight at THotel (2 nights)DAY 7 Saturday 11 JuneToday head to visit Nora archaeologicalsite before returning into the city to visitthe highlights of Calgliari, the vibrant capitalof Sardinia with lunch of own choicein Calgliari. Be ready for the farewelldinner at Sa Festa, with Vincenzo who isa world famous specialist musician, and amemorable evening that is a real culturalexperience of fine Sardinian cuisine andcultural performance in a traditional home.Overnight at T Hotel.DAY 8 Sunday 12 JuneAfter breakfast check-out and transfer tothe airport.
