Rules <strong>for</strong> Word Processing• Indent paragraphs using the Tab key on the keyboard.• Capitalize the first <strong>word</strong> of each sentence and proper nouns (names, cities, states…). Tocapitalize one letter, hold the Shift key down while hitting the letter you want tocapitalize.• Do not type in all capital letters!• Center titles using the center button on the toolbar, not with the Tab key or SpaceBar.• Space one time between each <strong>word</strong>.• Space twice after ENDING punctuation. (periods, question marks, exclamation points)• Do not hit the Enter key until you are at the end of a paragraph. The computer willautomatically go to the next line when one line is full.• If you see a wavy red line under a <strong>word</strong> you type it means the computer thinks it’smisspelled. Your name may have one of these even when it’s spelled correctly becausethe computer doesn’t know everyone’s name.• When you spell check (by clicking the ABC checkmark buttonon the toolbar) youcan choose to change the <strong>word</strong> to one of the suggested <strong>word</strong>s or ignore if it is a <strong>word</strong>you know you spelled correctly.• If you make a mistake, you can immediately undo it by click on the undo button on thetoolbar.
