Senninger recently launched their new website. The new look, new information, and new
features are proving a popular stop for numerous irrigators. The energy calculator feature is a
valuable tool allowing dealers to show their customers the financial benefits of lowering their
system costs. Simply enter the information for your area and the program calculates the savings.
The new website even has an alphabetical product index to help expedite viewers to what they
want to see. Literature for all Senninger products is also available to download and print. There
is a “search” feature to either search the site or the internet for topics of interest.
Now, Senninger announces the Spanish version of the website is up and running.
With so many customers worldwide, this new offering will make it possible for many more folks

¾" connections. The unique splasharm diffuser emulates dual
nozzle performance without clogging potential often found
with smaller secondary nozzles delivering outstanding
uniformity for flows from 3 to 7 gpm

The new PRL pressure regulator
is a new “no-screw” style
low flow pressure regulator.
This new design offers the
same reliable performance
as the PMR-LF model. This
new design has an area on the
upper housing that can be custom
imprinted with your logo (minimum
quantity required) to help maximize
your exposure to irrigators. Two
additional areas on the housing display
the flow and pressure information more
prominently for easy identification. Preset operating pressures
from 6 to 40 psi [0.41 to 2.76 bar]. Flows from 0.1 to 8 gpm
[23 to 1817 L/hr]. Available with inlet sizes of ¾" F NPT or hose,
outlet size of ¾" F NPT. The PRL comes with a two year warranty
on materials, workmanship and performance.

Enhancements
Improve Reliability of
Pivot Impacts Sprinklers
Senninger made several enhancements to the pivot impact
sprinkler line. Some of these enhancements like the “L” washer
and the color coded spring covers have been on production models
for 2 years or longer. These improvements contribute to the overall
reliability and performance. The addition of the special “L” washer
in the swivel provides faster rotation. The swivel thread seal has also
been improved for increased dependability. Weight was added to the
splasharm and a rubber bumper to help absorb impact. Pivot Impact
Sprinklers are backed by a two year warranty on materials, workmanship
and performance, and five year warranty on nozzle orifice wear.

Senninger remembers
Pierre Gerard
Pierre Gerard, founder and president
of 2iE (LeMans, France), recently
passed away. Gerard was dedicated
to expanding the use of mechanized
irrigation throughout the world. Under
his leadership, 2iE’s center pivot and
linear move irrigation systems have
been used in France and exported to
dozens of countries. He was virtually
an institution in the European center
pivot and linear move market for over
40 years. He was a true innovator with
many of his ideas still being used today. Pierre was the first to
introduce water drive center pivots into Europe in 1964-1965.
In 1969, he introduced the first electrically powered system in
Europe. Later that year he started manufacturing the first center
pivot wheel gear box in Europe. In 1976 he received a patent on
his unique towable wheel gear box. This gear box allowed you
to disengage the worm shaft. This concept is still being used on
center pivots today. Other patents he held were for a towable
linear move system which was capable of pivoting at the end
of the field and the original drive line universal joint. Pierre
dedicated his life to expand the use of mechanized irrigation
around the world. 2iE will continue to promote Pierre’s vision.
Senninger remembers Dale Heermann
Dale F. Heermann, 71, passed away in February. Dale was born and raised in Nebraska. He received his B.S. in
Agricultural Engineering from University of Nebraska. After graduation, he entered the U.S. Air Force. After his
military service Dale attended CSU receiving his M.S. and PhD in Agricultural Engineering. Following graduation he
began his long career with the USDA Agricultural Research Service. He retired from the USDA ARS in 2005 after a
very satisfying and productive career.
Dale developed the mathematical formulation to describe the hydraulics of center pivot irrigation systems and
developed a computer program for pivot evaluation and design that is incorporated into the USDA Natural Resources
Conservation Service national toolbox. He also developed the methodology for computing uniformity of irrigation
by center pivots, which is incorporated into both U.S. and international industry standards. Dale pioneered computer
irrigation scheduling technology for center pivots based on local weather data and irrigation application. He was a
leader in promoting improved irrigation management worldwide.
Dr. Heermann had more than 150 technical publications, and made more than 100 technical presentations at national and international meetings
as an authority on center pivot irrigation and precision farming. He was the recipient of numerous awards including the Irrigation Association as
“Man of the Year” in 1985. The ASABE, in 2007, endowed the Heermann Sprinkler Award in his name to be awarded annually.

dealer school
in Grand Island, Nebraska
Although the weather was not nice, it couldn’t keep
some dealers from attending the recent dealer school.
Folks were able to receive information about sprinklers,
applications, efficiencies, product installation, meters,
boom systems, trouble shooting and other topics. One
lucky attendee, Gary Fiscus of Quality Irrigation in Yuma,
Colorado, won a free sprinkler package with a retail value
up to $5,000. Watch for more details about upcoming
schools throughout the year.
