Volume XXXIV Issue 2 Second Quarter 2012 Page 5Southern Division is proud of its many delegates and alternate delegates, guests and volunteers who are attending theRepublican National Committee in Tampa, Florida in August. It sounds like the place to be, especially now that theSupreme Court has betrayed the Constitution. Boy, do we have a cause to fight for now!We are a Division with eight counties, of varying sizes; LACFRW is the largest with 34 clubs, San Diego next with 24,then Orange with 20, Riverside 10, San Bernardino 7, Ventura 7, and Santa Barbara 4. And Imperial, 0, at least so far.Together we are over 9000 tremendous Republican Women I am so proud of. Here are a few highlights from ourcounties:Los Angeles County – President Joy Bliss. LACFRW under leadership of Patti Adair, Ways & Means VP, hassuccessfully raised enough funds to expand the booth at the Los Angeles County Fair. Faces of the Federation (ourhard-working members) and the Republican Party are going to be hard to miss. Did you know the Federation began inLos Angeles in 1923 when Mrs. Florence Collins Porter organized the Los Angeles Republican Study Club? South BayRWF, the first official RWF club in Los Angeles, is starting the countdown for its 75 th Diamond Jubilee in 2013? AndFundraising. http://www.lacfrw.orgImperial County – President Pro-Tem Chris Flynn. Keep your fingers crossed. We are close to either reactivatingan old RWF club in Imperial County, or starting a new one. Chris Flynn, the 2 nd VP for Southern Division, isdetermined, and ladies in Imperial are on board. Better yet, pray for our success. Not yet fundraising.San Diego County - President Lynn Ann Reagan. The Del Mar County Fair’s month-long booth under MaryHumphrey's leadership is fully "wo-mannized" with three shifts a day. Voter registration is up, and a new RWF is tryingto bloom. President Lynn has called a Club President Council to coordinate all aspects of club activities, communications, and election efforts. And Fundraising.Orange County- President Sue Hamilton. OCFRW also has a month long fair, and almost all of the clubs areinvolved in voter registration at the many local city events. Voter registration has never been more important, and theOrange County ladies know this. And Fundraising. The largest club in the country has its home in Orange County:Huntington Harbour RWF. http://www.ocrwf.orgRiverside County– President Lynette Simonson. The ten RWF clubs in this mountainous and desert region areactively registering voters and opening headquarters. There are several Assembly seat battles in this region that arebringing in the CRP and the RNC. Communication between the clubs and the County is excellent, and the clubssupport each other. Many of the clubs have year-round Caring for America projects that warm the hearts of theircommunities. A highlight is the prize-winning Riverside RWF Dictionary Project. And Fundraising.San Bernardino County – President Kathy Faxon. Out of the seven clubs in this other mountainous and desertcounty, only Lake Arrowhead RWF meets in the summer time: Their dark period is the snow season! Membership isahead from the same time last year, can you believe? So tell us, Kathy, what are you doing so very right? There isalso an upcoming county-wide pancake breakfast Candidates’ Forum that everyone is going to, such a good idea for asummer election-related activity. And fundraising.Ventura County – President Daryl Reynolds. Camarillo Las Posas RWF is having David Horowitz as their Septspeaker, so expect another huge meeting. Watch out, Huntington Harbour RWF (Orange County), this club will soonbe the second largest club in the state, and who knows where they will go from there. Voter registration is a given inthis active county. And Fundraising.Santa Barbara County – President Gretchen Pfaff. Fighting local voter fraud is #1 on the SBCRWF’s agenda, afterrevelations of over 120% voter turnout near college campuses in 2010. R.I.T.A RWF is formally requesting a SantaBarbara grand jury investigation. They are also working on an Election Integrity Project whose aim is to clean up thevoter rolls by checking for duplicate names, false names, inaccuracies, etc. #2 is GOTV, with an RNC and the NRCCfunded Victory 2012 headquarters. The clubs are coordinating their efforts. Their main focus is on the Congressionalrace between Lois Capps (D) and Abel Maldonado ®.The bottom line for Southern Division is that our members and clubs are working efficiently and effectively, using localissues, races, talents for fundraising, and boots-on-the ground that will lead to the all-important success coming ourway. Our challenge to win in November increased 100-fold with the shocking and radical decision from Chief Justice JohnRoberts permitting unlimited taxing powers to government, iconized by Obamacare (what one friend callsCommieCare). We have been handed the gauntlet, and we will fight to the end..
