I also visited our Central Coast Club and their speaker was Chris Mitchum running for United StatesRepresentative – 24 District. I also worked at the Paso Robles Club’s Yard Sale fund raiser, they are great because they are allprofit.Membership - Our total membership for 30 clubs as of to date is 1,796, we are short 363 members from last year. If each clubcould bring in l2 members, I am sure we could get 3. We really need to reach or pass last year’s total membership. Ladies invite afriend and buy their lunch, or give a membership to a friend. It is extremely important that we keep Central Division’s membershipup. The following clubs met or passed their membership from last year:BakersfieldFresno County & CityLatinas UnitedTracyTurlockWe have a few clubs that are very close to meeting their membership. CFRW N e w s l e t t e rPage 4ROSEANN SLONSKY-BREAULT, Northern Division PresidentOur Northern Division Spring Conference, “Leading The Way to Victory” was a great success. ConferenceChair Kay Young and the clubs of Santa Clara Valley Region worked hard to make this one of the BESTNorthern Division Conferences ever. The weekend started with the Honorable Lynne Leach presenting her very popular Campaign School onFriday, May 4. Our informative conference speakers included CFRW President Carol Hadley, CFRWAdvocate Allison Olson, ND Victory 2012 Chair Janet Gardner, many local candidates, CRP Chairman TomDel Beccaro, and Banquet Speaker, Larry Greenfield, who shared important information about our “NationalDefense and The 2012 Election”. We were especially honored that NFRW President Rae Lynne Chornenkyattended our conference, inspired our members and reminded us about what a powerful organization we allbelong to, the National Federation of Republican Women, over 70,000 members strong! The weekendincluded a lively President’s Reception, the perfect opportunity to relax with friends, share ideas and makenew friends. We also hosted an exciting and very successful Silent and Live Auction on Saturday and onSunday morning! Our members went home feeling informed, inspired, empowered, and emboldened to go out and work toelect our Republican candidates on the local, state, and national level and elect Mitt Romney out nextPresident! Together we will win back our country and continue to pass on the American Dream to ourchildren and future generations!Northern Division is proud to have a number of our clubs celebrate important anniversaries in 2012 asFederated clubs.C ONGRATULATIONS:65th Anniversary: 60th Anniversary: 50th Anniversary:Napa Valley RWF Fort Bragg RWF Novato RWFNevada County RWF 25th Anniversary:West Valley RWF East Contra Costa RWFREPUBLICAN WOMEN LEADING THE WAYNANCY EISENHART, Southern Division PresidentSouthern Division is a veritable bee-hive of activity. We have too many clubs to highlight more than a few, but judgingfrom the large turnouts at our ‘Road Show” meetings (over 200 attendees at each of our three meetings since February),our women can’t wait for the November election to take place and we get a shot at Restoring America, our themefor the year. Our trio of Red Books is making a difference among Decline-to-States and conservative Hispanic voters, at leastamong those who had a chance to read (1) Democrats and Republicans: Contrasted, or (2) En Su Corazon, Es UstedUna Democratica o Un Republicano? Or In Your Heart, Are You A Democrat or a Republican? Our Hispanic Outreachchair Delores Chavez-Harmes has been meeting with many Hispanic groups and educating them to what Republicansreally stand for. Because there are variations of opinion in our membership on the illegal immigration issue, weare working with the Romney campaign and RWF clubs to insure our statements are positive, practical and mutually

Volume XXXIV Issue 2 Second Quarter 2012 Page 5Southern Division is proud of its many delegates and alternate delegates, guests and volunteers who are attending theRepublican National Committee in Tampa, Florida in August. It sounds like the place to be, especially now that theSupreme Court has betrayed the Constitution. Boy, do we have a cause to fight for now!We are a Division with eight counties, of varying sizes; LACFRW is the largest with 34 clubs, San Diego next with 24,then Orange with 20, Riverside 10, San Bernardino 7, Ventura 7, and Santa Barbara 4. And Imperial, 0, at least so far.Together we are over 9000 tremendous Republican Women I am so proud of. Here are a few highlights from ourcounties:Los Angeles County – President Joy Bliss. LACFRW under leadership of Patti Adair, Ways & Means VP, hassuccessfully raised enough funds to expand the booth at the Los Angeles County Fair. Faces of the Federation (ourhard-working members) and the Republican Party are going to be hard to miss. Did you know the Federation began inLos Angeles in 1923 when Mrs. Florence Collins Porter organized the Los Angeles Republican Study Club? South BayRWF, the first official RWF club in Los Angeles, is starting the countdown for its 75 th Diamond Jubilee in 2013? AndFundraising. http://www.lacfrw.orgImperial County – President Pro-Tem Chris Flynn. Keep your fingers crossed. We are close to either reactivatingan old RWF club in Imperial County, or starting a new one. Chris Flynn, the 2 nd VP for Southern Division, isdetermined, and ladies in Imperial are on board. Better yet, pray for our success. Not yet fundraising.San Diego County - President Lynn Ann Reagan. The Del Mar County Fair’s month-long booth under MaryHumphrey's leadership is fully "wo-mannized" with three shifts a day. Voter registration is up, and a new RWF is tryingto bloom. President Lynn has called a Club President Council to coordinate all aspects of club activities, communications, and election efforts. And Fundraising.Orange County- President Sue Hamilton. OCFRW also has a month long fair, and almost all of the clubs areinvolved in voter registration at the many local city events. Voter registration has never been more important, and theOrange County ladies know this. And Fundraising. The largest club in the country has its home in Orange County:Huntington Harbour RWF. http://www.ocrwf.orgRiverside County– President Lynette Simonson. The ten RWF clubs in this mountainous and desert region areactively registering voters and opening headquarters. There are several Assembly seat battles in this region that arebringing in the CRP and the RNC. Communication between the clubs and the County is excellent, and the clubssupport each other. Many of the clubs have year-round Caring for America projects that warm the hearts of theircommunities. A highlight is the prize-winning Riverside RWF Dictionary Project. And Fundraising.San Bernardino County – President Kathy Faxon. Out of the seven clubs in this other mountainous and desertcounty, only Lake Arrowhead RWF meets in the summer time: Their dark period is the snow season! Membership isahead from the same time last year, can you believe? So tell us, Kathy, what are you doing so very right? There isalso an upcoming county-wide pancake breakfast Candidates’ Forum that everyone is going to, such a good idea for asummer election-related activity. And fundraising.Ventura County – President Daryl Reynolds. Camarillo Las Posas RWF is having David Horowitz as their Septspeaker, so expect another huge meeting. Watch out, Huntington Harbour RWF (Orange County), this club will soonbe the second largest club in the state, and who knows where they will go from there. Voter registration is a given inthis active county. And Fundraising.Santa Barbara County – President Gretchen Pfaff. Fighting local voter fraud is #1 on the SBCRWF’s agenda, afterrevelations of over 120% voter turnout near college campuses in 2010. R.I.T.A RWF is formally requesting a SantaBarbara grand jury investigation. They are also working on an Election Integrity Project whose aim is to clean up thevoter rolls by checking for duplicate names, false names, inaccuracies, etc. #2 is GOTV, with an RNC and the NRCCfunded Victory 2012 headquarters. The clubs are coordinating their efforts. Their main focus is on the Congressionalrace between Lois Capps (D) and Abel Maldonado ®.The bottom line for Southern Division is that our members and clubs are working efficiently and effectively, using localissues, races, talents for fundraising, and boots-on-the ground that will lead to the all-important success coming ourway. Our challenge to win in November increased 100-fold with the shocking and radical decision from Chief Justice JohnRoberts permitting unlimited taxing powers to government, iconized by Obamacare (what one friend callsCommieCare). We have been handed the gauntlet, and we will fight to the end..

Volume XXXIV Issue 2 Second Quarter 2012Page 127 Differences between Conservatives And LiberalsJohn Hawkins John Hawkins is a professional blogger who runs Right Wing NewsConservatives and liberals approach almost every issue with completely different philosophies, underlying assumptions, andmethods. That's why it's so hard to find genuine compromise between conservatism and liberalism -- because not only are liberalsalmost always wrong, their solutions almost always make things worse. With that in mind, let me take a few moments to explain some of the key differences between liberals and conservative to you.Bonus) Conservatives believe that judges should act like umpires instead of legislating from the bench. That means that judgesshould determine whether laws are permissible under the Constitution and settle debates about the meaning of laws, not imposetheir will based on their ideological leanings. Liberals view judges as a backdoor method of getting unpopular left-leaning legislationpassed. They don't want umpires, they want political partisans in black robes who will side with them first and then come up with arationale to explain it.7) Conservatives believe that abortion ends the life of an innocent child and since we believe that infanticide is wrong, we opposeabortion. Most liberals, despite what they'll tell you, believe that abortion ends the life of an innocent child, but they prefer killingthe baby to inconveniencing the mother.6) Conservatives believe in confronting and defeating enemies of the United States before they can harm American citizens. Liberalsbelieve in using law enforcement measures to deal with terrorism, which means that they feel we should allow terrorists to train, plan, and actually attempt to kill Americans before we try to arrest them -- as if you can just send the police around to pick up aterrorist mastermind hiding in Iran or the wilds of Pakistan.5) Conservatives, but not necessarily Republicans (which is unfortunate), believe it's vitally important to the future of the country toreduce the size of government, keep taxes low, balance the budget, and get this country out of debt. Liberals, and Democrats forthat matter, believe in big government, high taxes, and they have never met a new spending program they didn't like, whether wewill have to go into debt to pay for it or not.4) Conservatives believe that government, by its very nature, tends to be inefficient, incompetent, wasteful, and power hungry. That's why we believe that the government that governs least, governs best. Liberals think that the solution to every problem isanother government program. Even when those new programs create new problems, often worse than the ones that were beingfixed in the first place, the solution is always....you guessed it, another government program.3) Conservatives are patriotic, believe that America is a great nation, and are primarily interested in looking out for the good of thecountry. That's why we believe in "American exceptionalism" and "America first." Liberals are internationalists who are moreconcerned about what Europeans think of us and staying in the good graces of the corrupt bureaucrats who control the UN thanlooking out for the best interests of this nation.2) Conservatives, most of them anyway, believe in God and think that the Constitution has been twisted by liberal judges toillegitimately try to purge Christianity from the public square. We also believe, most of us anyway, that this country has beensuccessful in large part because it is a good, Christian nation and if our country ever turns away from the Lord, it will cease toprosper. Liberals, most of them anyway, are hostile to Christianity. That's why, whether you're talking about a school play atChristmas time, a judge putting the Ten Commandments on the wall of his court, or a store employee saying "Merry Christmas"instead of "Happy Holidays," liberals are dedicated to driving reminders of Christianity from polite society.1) Conservatives believe in pursuing policies because they're pragmatic and because they work. Liberals believe in pursuing policiesbecause they're "nice" and make them feel good. Whether the policies they're advocating actually work or not is of secondaryimportance to them.Article is from www.townhall.com
