2008 Year of Frog – Suggested ActivitiesSpot the differencesOverviewIn this activity, students can learn the environmental changes due to human impactsand the threats that bring to the amphibians.Target AgeAge 4-12BackgroundThe game involves the message of impacts on amphibians due to habitatdestruction, pollution, climatic change and over-collection. The environmentalproblems are visualised in graphics. Children can spot the differences before andafter the change. Besides, the children can learn the role of frog in pest insectscontrol and minimizing the spread of diseases.ObjectivesStudents will:• Give twoexamples ofthreats thatamphibians arefacing• Know that cleanenvironment isimportant toamphibians• Name one benefitthat amphibianbring to human lifeMaterials• Game sheets• Colour pensProcedurePreparation1. Can photocopy the game sheet to students or;2. Prepare the projector system in classroom to project the graphic3. A copy of answer sheetConduct the activity1. For young kids (age 4-6), the whole class can work together with guidance ofteacher2. For Primary 1-3 (age 7-9), students can work in pair to spot the differences3. For Primary 4-6 (age 10-12), student can work individually and teacher canfacilitates students to discuss the problems during class before checking theanswers.Debriefing questions1.
