<strong>Ocean</strong> <strong>Park</strong> <strong>Ticketing</strong> <strong>and</strong><strong>Admission</strong> <strong>System</strong>© <strong>Ocean</strong> <strong>Park</strong> Corporation (2006)Request for Expressions of Interest for the design, supply,implementation, commissioning <strong>and</strong> integration ofticketing <strong>and</strong> admission system for <strong>Ocean</strong> <strong>Park</strong>The <strong>Ocean</strong> <strong>Park</strong> Corporation (“the Corporation”) invites qualified vendorsto express their interest in the appointment of the design, supply,implementation, commissioning <strong>and</strong> integration of ticketing <strong>and</strong>admission system (T&AS).As part of the Master Redevelopment Plan of the Corporation, in additionto the existing entrance at Tai Shue Wan, a new Entry Plaza with publictransport interface, car parking <strong>and</strong> various other facilities is planned tobe opened by Q3 2010. One of the key IT initiatives is to implement a newT&AS at Tai Shue Wan entrance <strong>and</strong> the new Entry Plaza to cater for thegrowth of the <strong>Park</strong>’s business in the coming years. Our current annualattendance is about 5 million. The new T&AS is expected to support futuregrowth in annual attendance with an hourly traffic over 12,000 visitors.The required T&AS solution should include ticketing software, online webstore,kiosks <strong>and</strong> access control turnstiles. It should be noted that there arebusiness challenges to be resolved, such as maintaining business-as-usual<strong>and</strong> having a transition period of 2 to 3 years at which there are twoentrances to the park, <strong>and</strong> there will be two sets of issued tickets with theold <strong>and</strong> new ticketing systems. Reports need to be able to retrieve datafrom both T&AS. The solution should also be scalable to integrate withother future IT solutions such as workforce management system, point-ofsale,Enterprise Resource Planning (including finance, procurement,


inventory <strong>and</strong> HR modules), customer relationship management <strong>and</strong>business intelligence solutions.The scope of work includes design, supply, implementation tocommissioning, which includes:1. defining the solution blueprints,2. gathering <strong>and</strong> confirming the requirements,3. installing <strong>and</strong> configuring the T&AS based on the requirements,4. integrating <strong>and</strong> exchanging information with the admission gates,5. integrating with other IT solutions,6. performing various levels of system testing,7. delivering system training to respective staffs, <strong>and</strong>8. providing initial production support after the new T&AS is launched.The Corporation expects the selected vendor to perform the role ofprimary contractor who will manage the supply of required ticketingsoftware, hardware <strong>and</strong> other related construction <strong>and</strong> field works.The interested vendor shall confirm your interest by completing thefollowing information:1. Company background <strong>and</strong> profile,2. Major business activities,3. Relevant theme parks clients’ job reference on similar T&ASimplementation projects (in the past 5 years since 2004). Pleasenote that it will be important for you to let us know about your role(s)<strong>and</strong> the contract sum of each of these projects,4. Proven experiences in providing theme park T&AS that supportsannual attendances over 3 million,5. High-level description of the T&AS products in point 4 above(software <strong>and</strong> hardware) <strong>and</strong> solution which includes but notlimited to the following:• Ticket type setup <strong>and</strong> bundling maintenance,• Ticket sales channels maintenance,• Pricing management,• Promotion <strong>and</strong> discount management,• Pass holder management,• Access control <strong>and</strong> turnstiles ,• Photo ID <strong>and</strong> biometrics processing,• Interface with other systems (such as finance),• Integration with other peripherals (such as ticket printer, barcodereader, camera, display),• Reporting <strong>and</strong> analytics capabilities, <strong>and</strong>• <strong>System</strong> administration,

Description of key implementation considerations:• Implementation approach,• services to be provided,• teaming approach,• support model,• pricing model,• partnering model with other admission control system <strong>and</strong>hardware vendors, <strong>and</strong>7. Audited financial report for the past 3 years since 2005.8. Late submission will notbe considered.Any vendor that has not registered with the Corporation as Supplier isrequired to submit the Supplier/Contractor/Consultant Registration Formto apply for registration. The form can be obtained from the Corporation’swebsite or Corporate Services Department.The Corporation would genuinely consider the interested vendors <strong>and</strong>include in tender invitation list. Vendors who do not hear from theCorporation within three months should consider their expressions ofinterest unsuccessful. The Corporation reserves an absolute discretion toinvite or not to invite any firm to submit tender proposals.
