Medical School RenovationNew BuildingPart I: Renovate existing School <strong>of</strong> Medicine areas. Expand Anatomy Lab,Classrooms and Student Call/Education Spaces. Approximate total squarefootage <strong>of</strong> these areas is 14,079 s.f.Part II: Construct a new Education Building for the School <strong>of</strong> Medicine <strong>of</strong>approximately 24,000 s.f.• The present space is inadequate and outdated and will not support theplanned expansion <strong>of</strong> class sizes/enrollment. A new Education Building willprovide consolidated administration, needed lab and testing space, andneeded expansion areas for nursing enrollment.


Hospital Area RenovationTo renovate existing east and west wing old hospital areas <strong>of</strong> approximately 100,000square feet to provide critically needed space.• With the opening <strong>of</strong> the new Adult Hospital in 2007, areas have become available butwill require major renovations.• Departments/Services presently located throughout the facilities needs to beconsolidated into efficient and contiguous spaces.


UMMC Administration Building• To construct a new Administration building <strong>of</strong> approximately 60,000 s.f.• The Medical Center’s administrative functions need to be consolidated in adefined location for greater efficiency. This would also free up neededexpansion space for Rowland Medical Library which is also located in theexisting Holmes Resource Center.
