Contestants with a compositerank of seven or less in the two rounds advance to the State Championship. For example, acontestant receiving ranks of 2 and 3 would qualify for the State Championship because 2 + 3 = 5and a composite rank of seven or less is all that is required. Students qualifying for the StateChampionship at the Regional Tournament will receive an appropriate award in recognition of theirachievement.13. Each regional tournament will have a run-off, if needed, to declare a regional champion in an event.14. In addition to these individual awards, schools accumulate sweepstakes points based upon thesuccess of their entries. Each entry having a composite rank of 2 or 3 is worth five pointswhile a composite rank of 4, 5, or 6 is worth three points and a composite rank of 7,8, or 9 is worth one point. Trophies are awarded to the first, second and third place schools havingthe greatest number of sweepstakes points. Ties for these places are broken in the followingorder:(1) greatest number of ranks of one,(2) greatest number of composite ranks of six or less,(3) greatest number of entries with composite ranks of three or less.15. The regional manager will forward complete results of each tournament to the <strong>League</strong> officeIMMEDIATELY following the tournament.16. If a team drops from the Regional or State Championships, they must pay all the drop fees or anuisance fee of $150 (whichever is lower) by the time of registration in KHSSL the following year.17. Each regional tournament shall have a third round for each event to find a champion andrunner up in the event. Each junior/senior high tournament will have a run-off if needed todeclare a regional champion in an event.
