Story-Time Ballet (Grades Preschool-1)Story-Time Ballet is a fun, imaginative introduction to classical Ballet movement. Throughstories such as “The Nutcracker,” “Coppelia, and “”Swan Lake” students will creativelyexplore ballet vocabulary and choreography. Students will also learn proper dancetechnique and will work towards increased flexibility, coordination and strength.Day: 15 Mondays (1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/28, 3/7, 3/14, 3/21, 4/11, 4/18, 4/25, 5/2, 5/9,5/16, 5/23)Time: 4:30 -5:15 p.m. Limit: 15 students Cost: $150Instructor: Fran Kaiser, OTS Preschool Movement Teacher and Assistant Director of Jill Royka’s Spotlight <strong>School</strong> of Arts** Students enrolling in both Kids-Hop Dance and Story-Time Ballet will receive a discount – Cost: $280Sweet Treats to Take and Bake (Grades 1-4)Students will prepare sweet treats to take home and bake with their families. Students will combine andmix the ingredients to prepare the recipe then take the item home to bake. We will also decorate premadecookies using different techniques and take home to bake. Students will learn to read and follow arecipe and understand baking measurements. Each student will receive a “baking kit” (apron, woodenspoon, measuring spoons, mixing bowl, etc.) to use during the six-week session and take home at theend. Each week will feature a different sweet treat such as cookies, muffins, cupcakes, etc.Day: 6 Tuesdays (1/25, 2/1, 2/8, 2/15, 2/22, 3/1)Time: 3:45-5:15 p.m. Limit: 8 students Cost: $110 (includes supplies)Instructor: Jacquie Tinnemeyer, OTS Development AssociateTraditional Chinese Kung Fu (Grades K-6)The course will provide instruction in the Chinese martial arts from various Northern styleKung Fu systems. The systems were founded in Northern China and are based ontraditional martial arts principles developed through the Shaolin Temple. Instruction willinclude basic stretches, warm-ups, punching/ kicking/ blocking combinations andtechniques and a basic praying mantis form. Loose fitting clothing (sweat shirt/pants ormartial arts uniform) and tennis shoes are required.Day: 17 Wednesdays (1/19, 1/26, 2/2, 2/9, 2/16, 2/23, 3/2, 3/9, 3/16, 3/23, 4/6, 4/13,4/20, 4/27, 5/4, 5/11, 5/18, 5/25)Time: 3:45 – 4:45 p.m. Limit: 25 students Cost: $175Instructor: Master Tony Yang and Staff, WuTang Center for Martial Arts www.wutangcenter.comAll students attending After the Bell programs will attend Extended Day Careuntil a session begins, and may return to Extended Day Carewhen a session is over at no additional cost.
