Adjust electrodegap according to the valueslisted in the ”Specifications” section.If the spark plug must be replaced,use only the type recommended in”Specifications” or equivalent resistortype spark plug of the correct heatrange.Clean the sparkplug and checkthe gap at theelectrode.0,6 mmCAUTION!Before removing the spark plug,clean the area around the plug toprevent dirt and debris from gettinginto the engine’s internal parts.Remove and inspect spark plugEvery 50 hours of operation; more frequently in dusty conditions:Gear HousingAspark plug gap1. Clean all loose debris from gear box.2. Remove plug (A) and check level of grease. Grease should fill gear case tobottom of grease plug hole.3. Add grease if necessary using manual grease gun or squeeze-type tube. Donot use high pressure grease gun. DO NOT over-fill.50 hour maintenanceRemove and replace the fuel filterelement.■■Use a hooked wire to extract the fuelfilter from inside the fuel tank. Inspectthe fuel filter element. If it shows signsof contamination, replace with a genuine<strong>Shindaiwa</strong> replacement fuel filterelement.■■Before reinstalling the new filter element,inspect the condition of all thefuel system components (fuel pickupline, fuel return line, tank ventline, tank vent, fuel cap and fueltank).■■If damage, splitting or deteriorationis noted, the unit should beremoved from service until it canbe inspected or repaired by a <strong>Shindaiwa</strong>-trainedservice technician.CAUTION!Make sure you do not pierce the fuelline with the end of the hooked wire.The line is delicate and can be damagedeasily.Hooked wireFuel filter elementNOTE:Federal EPA regulations require all model year 2012 and later gasoline poweredengines produced for sale in the United States to be equipped with a special lowpermeation fuel supply hose between the carburetor and fuel tank.
