Roadswith the greatest traffic volumes carry up to 60,000 vehicles per day while the roadswith the lightest traffic loads still carry about 15,000 vehicles per day. The function ofthese roads is to form the primary network for regional traffic movements.Approximately 9% of the vehicles on state arterials are carrying freight.30
