PoliciesaPROCEDURESAid Station EtiqueTTePreparingIthe plains1• Pull into the aid station and walkyour bicycle as far back as possible(the opposite of dropping your bikeouron the shoulder or entrance/exit ofthe area)partnerso The first aid station of the day istypically the most congested andhas resulted in problems for otherroad usersonJo Please respect the volunteersrouteand follow their instructions2• Signal and announce your turn intothe aid station or your stopping3• Never pull-out from the aid stationwithout looking for approachingin Jtraffic and yielding to traffic in thetownstravel lane of the road4• Plan the amount of time spent at anaid station to ensure you are off theroute by the designated close time5• Do NOT rely only on the aid stationsfor food and drink; carry two waterbottles and some food (bar, gel,banana, etc.) at all timesIf your family has an emergency messagefor you during Pedal The Plains, they canleave a message with the Pedal The PlainsEmergency Message Center by calling 303-954-6705. Voice messages will be checkedperiodically from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.during the Tour (September 18-20).This service is for true emergencies only. Allmessages will be screened. Violators will notbe eligible for future Pedal The Plains tours.7
