General Travel information CongressInformationThere are direct motorway links to the ICCfrom Berlin’s international airports. A total of12 000 parking spaces are available at andthe around the venue. Taxi ranks, undergroundand light rail stations and bus stopscan all be found close to the main entranceof the EFORT congress venue.Public transportWithin Berlin, Verkehrsverbund Berlin-Brandenburg (VBB) fares apply. The Berlinpublic transport system is efficient, and thecombination of buses, trams, the U-Bahn(underground) and S-Bahn (commuter rail)reaches every part of the sprawling city andits surroundings. The U-Bahn and S-Bahn arethe best ways of getting around. Buses coverthe parts of the city that cannot be reachedby train, and East Berlin has a network ofmodernised tram lines of pre-war origins.With a VBB ticket, you can use all the meansof transport offered by the various transportcompanies in Berlin and Brandenburg.The main stop for the Congress is “MesseNord/ICC”. This stop is on the East-West connectionthrough the city centre, passing themain stations of Zoologischer Garten, PotsdamerPlatz, and Alexanderplatz.BUSBy carU-Bahn / S-Bahn / Busline numberEnvironmental ZonePlease note that the Environmental Zonecame into force in Berlin on 1 January 2008.Vehicles may only enter this area if they displaya valid sticker showing that their emissionsdo not exceed a specified level of fineparticulates. Signs have been erected on the roads clearly showing where the EnvironmentalZone begins. The exhibition groundsand ICC are located outside the Environ-mental Zone.
