Back to StartSRRefund of Tuition FeesTo apply for a tuition fee refund, an“Application for Refund” form must becompleted and submitted to your <strong>Curtin</strong>Provider fees centre.Forms can be downloaded from: fees.curtin.edu.au/refunds_forms.cfmInternational Student RefundagreementThis full agreement can be downloadedfrom: www.fees.curtin.edu.au/refunds_forms.cfmTotal /Partial Refund• Where an offer of a place iswithdrawn, or <strong>Curtin</strong> <strong>University</strong> isunable to provide the course, alltuition fees are fully refundable;• For new prospective studentswith conditional offers, if thecondition(s) stipulated in theLetter of Offer cannot be met, alltuition fees are fully refundable;• New students who, after acceptingan offer of a place, give writtennotice prior to commencementof the study period that they areunable to take up the offer, willreceive a full refund of tuition feespaid;• New and existing students whowithdraw from the unit after thecommencement of the studyperiod, but on or prior to thecensus date, will receive*:‣ ¾ A refund of 50% of tuition feespaid OR‣ ¾ Full tuition fees paid in respectof the unit will be retained as acredit towards the next studyperiod of enrolment.If students are unsure of which studyperiod applies to them, they can checkit in OASIS via eStudent and view theirstudy plan details or contact their local<strong>Curtin</strong> provider.In order for a refund to apply the request forwithdrawal from a unit must be received inPerth by the census date. Where the requestis submitted:Online via eStudent, these must be completedno later than midnight Perth time on thecensus date;Via an offshore local <strong>Curtin</strong> provider inhard copy, the request must be made onthe correct form approximately two weeksprior to the census date in order to have itreceipted in Perth in time. Students shouldcheck with their local <strong>Curtin</strong> provider asto when their request to withdraw must besubmitted.No Refund• NO refund of tuition fees paidcan be made if students (new orexisting) withdraw after the censusdate for the study period; see thesection on census dates;• Where fraudulent or forgeddocumentation has beenpresented, the full first studyperiod tuition fee will be retainedby the <strong>University</strong>.Appeals against refundIf a student is dissatisfied with theoutcome of their refund request, awritten appeal can be made to theirlocal <strong>Curtin</strong> provider. Contact your local<strong>Curtin</strong> provider for further information.ResultsThe latest examination results can beviewed by students through OASIS.Examination results will be withheldwhere a student disciplinary action ispending or course assessment remainsoutstanding by the Lecturers.Statement of Academic Record: Resultsreported on the Statement of AcademicRecord include both grades andpercentage marks.Also refer to Academic Transcript andCourse CompletionSanctionsSanctions are imposed when paymentis outstanding for and not limited to:• Tuition Fees/Late Fees/Amenitiesand Services Fee• Library Fines/ Bookshop DebtsIf you do not pay your fees and debtsto your local <strong>Curtin</strong> provider/<strong>Curtin</strong> bythe required due date, a sanction willbe placed on your student record. Thissanction prevents access to your resultsand you will be unable to receive yourofficial testamur or graduate until thedebt is paid. Students with sanctionsare also not able to re-enrol or changecourse until the debt is cleared. Oncethe sanction has been paid it will beremoved from your record within 24hours. Students can check if they havesanctions recorded against them via the‘Sanctions Channel’ in OASIS.For enquiries about sanctions, youshould contact your enrolling local<strong>Curtin</strong> provider in the first instance.Page 27 Page 28
