We are proud to promote this 3stars World Grand Prix Tournament

German Badminton Association. the VBD would like to take this 

opportunity to 

express its thanks to all national and international guests for their

wish everybody

Admission Cards. 

Each player, coach, court official, volunteer, journalist and trade 

staff member 

and exhibitor will get an admission card which shows that he or 

she is a participant of the Yonex German Open 2006. The admission 


card consists of a plastic wallet for the card and a long ribbon to 

put round your neck. 

We have all participants assigned to a special group [for example: 

players, 

court officials etc.]. 

Each group is represented by its own colour [for example: players = 

red]. 

This colour you will find as a big point on your admission card [for 

example: 

the red point shows that he or she is a player]. 

Every participant will get his or her admission card in a linen bag 

together 

with some other information and things within the accreditation in 

the 

communication centre. 

That is why it is so important for everyone to come to the 

accreditation 

first. 

Without wearing your admission card it would be nearly impossible 

to use 

the transfer, to get into the players area or into the practise hall. 

You see 

it is absolutely necessary to wear the admission card. 

Please avoid superfluous difficulties and wear the admission card 

visibly 

during the whole tournament. 

For your attention here are the different groups with their special 

colours: 

players, coaches, team officials glowing red 

court officials black 

volunteers green 

press, journalists yellow 

trade staff members, exhibitors blue 

others red 

Changing Rooms. 

There are enough changing rooms in the lower ground floor of the 

RWE 


Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle. The changing rooms are bright, modern 

furnished 

and spacious. They are divided in rooms for women and rooms for 

men. 

All rooms can always be used throughout the whole tournament. 

Although it would be better not to bring along personal values we 

want 

to point out that there are lockers in the hall. 

If necessary please contact the help desk. 

Chinese Restaurant 

[Forum Mülheim City]. 

According to the arrangement with the organizer the Chinese 

Restaurant 

“Teahouse” will offer all players, coaches, officials and guests of 

the 

Yonex German Open 2006 dishes from its daily menu for discount 

prices. 

In this case we have mainly thought of our Asian guests but 

nevertheless 

the ”Teahouse” is a good Chinese restaurant and very popular in 

Mülheim. 

At this point we would like to remind you once again of the 

convenient 

location of the Chinese restaurant. The Forum is within easy reach. 

If you 

want to you can use the free shuttle bus transfer there and back. 

Communication Centre [CC]. 

This year we have decided to arrange a communication centre as a 

meeting 

point for the team captains and officials of our guest nations and 

for every 

kind of information. 

The cc is located in the middle of the three-parted practise hall in 

the 

basement of the RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle. In this separated area 

you will 


find four important facilities: 

a) the help desk [Sonja Mai]; 

b) the transfer desk [Alex Grabowsky]; 

c) distribution of special outfits [Tanja 

Spennhoff]; 

d) receipt of meal tickets [Titus Bremser]. 

Meal tickets are available for: 

� volunteers; 

� players, coaches and officials; 

� umpires; 

� linesmen; 

� the staff of all companies and organizations which have 

got 

stalls or stands at this tournament. 

Beyond that the cc should be more than a place for getting help or 

information. We want to invite our international guests for meeting 

each 

other or even to relax. There is also the possibility to have a 

conversation or a small talk. Here you can find both a place to work 

and a place for communication. 

For working people we have got a big modern multifunctional copy 

centre. The Konica Minolta a combined fax, scanner, printer and 

copier will be available for you as well. 

Furthermore every participated nation will have got its own file for 

individual information and correspondence.

Dope-testing. 


Dope-testing is mandatory at World Grand Prix events classified 4* 

and above, and is encouraged at all other World Grand Prix events. 

The realization of these tests [all in all 8] will take place on the day 

of the quarterfinals, semi-finals or finals. 

PCW [Medizinische Testverfahren im Sport GmbH], a famous 

business in Germany, will carry out the tests. 

PCW directly cooperates with NADA [National Anti Doping Agency] 

and indirectly with WADA as well. 

Flight Tickets Reconfirmation. 

If your return or connecting flight has be reconfirmed please do it 

one or two days before you want to fly. 

Therefore please contact the help desk. Mrs. Sonja Mai or Mrs. 

Tanja 

Spennhoff would like to help you with the phone calls. After having 

settled this matter they will put a note into the file of your team. 

Hotel Payment. 

According to point 41/c) of the invitation the payment must be made 

as 

follows: 

On Tuesday 10 th January, 2006 or Wednesday 11 th January, 2006 

you have 

to pay the balance of accommodation costs at the help desk in the 

communication centre to Mr. Helmut Altmann. 

The payment can be made cash in EUR or $US and by credit card. 

We accept Eurocard/Master Card or VISA card. 

Hotel Payment 

[by early Departure]. 

We generally expect fixed bookings relating to arrival and 

departure. Just 


in case we want to have certainty for planning and for our 

authorized hotels. 

Last but not least we would comply with you if you told us the exact 

time 

of your departure at least 48 hours before you are going to leave. 

In case you should have to leave earlier please contact Mr. Helmut 

Altmann 

in the communication centre. It would be possible to let you off the 

hotel 

costs. 

Please note that arrangements can only be made with Mr. Helmut 

Altmann 

and not with the hotel manager or the hotel owner. 

Instructions for Using Photographic Equipment. 

It is absolutely not allowed to take photos or video recordings 

inside 

the court area! 

The staff members will keep an eye on people with cameras and 

they 

are informed to take action against offences. 

Coaches are allowed to record plays just for analysis. 

Coaches who want to make a video recording should always wear 

the 

admission card visibly. 

Beyond that cameras and all other photographic equipment have to 

be 

marked as well. This goes for both team members and reporters. 

The accreditation of every kind of photographic equipment for 

using in 

the tournament hall takes place in the communication centre. 

There is a possibility for coaches and team members to do so

Past it there will be the possibility for marking the cameras later on

Members of the press generally have to come to the help desk for 

accreditation. The marking of cameras and all other photographic 

equipment will take place within the accreditation. 

Internet Café. 

The internet café invites our national and international guests to 

surf and 

chat worldwide. Mr. Manuel Rösler the operator of www.badzine.de 

- a 

well-known badminton website – has organized the this year’s 

internet café. 

There are four online PCs on the gallery of the RWE Rhein-Ruhr 

Sporthalle. 

We wish every user a lot of fun. 

LAN-Network 

[for using the special network of the Tournament Hall]. 

If you want to use a private notebook to lock in our international 

LAN-network 

or to get into the internet with the help of the LAN-network you will 

have to 

install a topical virus scanner. 

Your notebook must have passed the internal virus test 

successfully. 


Otherwise it will not be possible to install an access to the internal 

LANnetwork. 

this access will only be installed by staff members of the Milon.de 

Informationsdienste GmbH. Please inform yourself on time in the 

press 

centre by Mr. Hubert Beckwermert. 

Lost Property. 

If you find something in the tournament hall, in the practise hall or 

somewhere else please take it to the help desk. 

People who have lost something should ask at the help desk as 

well. 

Meal Tickets. 

You can get the meal tickets in the communication centre at a 

special issuing office. Mr. Titus Bremser will hand you the tickets. 

If you need further information he will take care for your problems. 

Now a short explanation for use in the restaurant “King Hattrick”: 

• The meal tickets are graduated on points. 

For example a lunch is 6 points, a dinner is also 

5 points and a snack is only 1 point. 

[Lunch and dinner including 0,3 l water, tea or apple juice] 

• After getting your dish you pay with the required number 

of points from your meal tickets. The tickets are only 

valid for the supply of the Yonex German Open Lounge. 

• People who are allowed to use meal tickets can get them 

daily from 10.00 – 12.00 

10.00 a.m. – 12.00 a.m. [noon] 

and from 14.00 – 15.00 

2.00 p.m. - 3.00 p.m. 


For other dishes and drinks you have to pay. 

Medical Care. 

Because of the importance of the tournament we can guarantee a 

constant medical care for the whole event, qualification included. 

The two tournament doctors 

• Dr. Norbert Möllers 

and 

• tba 

will attend the event. 

Like last year we will offer a physiological service in a separate 

area. This room will be endowed with necessary equipment and 

will be available during the whole time of the tournament. 

Mrs. Sylvia Bach from the Olympic Training Centre Rhein-Ruhr 

will be in charge for the physiological service. Beyond that we 

can offer this room to national and international personal 

masseurs to attend their players as well. According to an 

agreement the equipment will be also available for coaches 

and masseurs. 

Mülheim an der Ruhr. 

Mülheim an der Ruhr is a middle-sized town with about 170.000 

inhabitants. Mülheim is not one of the typical industrial towns 

which we often find in this area. 

Mülheim is called “the town by the river” and that is why the river 

has exerted great influence on life and development since the 

beginnings. Today the Ruhr is still important but more for fun than 

for trade and industry. 

On the occasion of the North-Rhine / Westfalian garden festival 

1992 a beautiful park was created along the river, suitable not 

only for strollers but also for joggers or inline skaters. 

By the river you can also find the Leather- and Tannermuseum 

which gives information on old trade and history. 


Further historical buildings are The Castle of Broich and The 

Monastry of Saarn. Today the Castle of Broich is an interesting 

museum and a nice scenery for festivals, concerts, markets and 

a lot of other kinds of events. 

The Monastry of Saarn is a Cistercian monastry from 1214 on 

the edge of the historical suburb Saarn. 

An old part of town you can also find in the middle of Mülheim. 

There are small shops, gift shops, pubs and restaurants. 

The city of Mülheim is rather lively with its pedestrian precinct 

and the Forum a modern three storied shopping centre with a 

hotel, shops, international snack bars, cinemas and a good 

Chinese restaurant. 

Mülheim has also got a lot of special events and museums. For 

example Ringlockschuppen for cabaret, concerts and theatre. 

The Museum of Art in the Old Post Office, the Camera Obscura, 

a fascinating museum about the history of film and 

cinematography, 

and last but not least The Aquarius, a museum about water, which 

is located in an 100 years old water-tower. You see water is still 

rather important for Mülheim an der Ruhr.

Place. 

Mülheim an der Ruhr a town in the northwest of the Ruhr area is 

very convenient 

as far as public transport goes. 

20 km far from Düsseldorf National/International Airport; 

80 km far from Köln/Bonn National/International Airport. 

From Mülheim station you can get quickly to the big stations 

Duisburg, Essen 

and Oberhausen from which IC/ICE trains run to the big German 

and some 

European cities. 

The local S- and underground railway system will bring you as 

quickly as possible 

to nearly every town in the Ruhr area. 

In Mülheim an der Ruhr the town and bus network is very good. 

You have not to 

wait long and public means of transport are not overcrowded. 

Beyond that a dense road network existent of motorways, dual 

carriage ways and 

mayor roads lead to nearly every important place, station or airport 

of this area. 


Presentation Ceremony. 

On Sunday, 15 th January, 2006 the finals will take place. 

The presentation ceremony of each final and the interviews with 

the players will be following the final. 

The interviews will be made by

• Mr. Christian Holzmacher. 

Press Centre. 

The RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle is a new building with an own 

press 

centre. The modern furnished room is technical up-to-date and 

meets 

professional demands. 

The technical equipment is provided with enough telephone/fax 

extensions and internet connections as well. 

The head of the press centre is Mr. Hubert Beckwermert, an 

experienced 

journalist who will be glad to help you if necessary. 

In addition he will hand you some special information about the 

press 

centre. 

Besides Mr. Beckwermert you can find Mrs. Maike Masurat, the 

editor 


of the event website www.german-open-badminton.de in the press 

centre 

as well. 

RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle [Outline]. 

The venue of the Yonex German Open 2006 is the RWE Rhein-Ruhr 

Sporthalle. This new-built multifunctional and modern designed 

event 

hall is excellently suitable for both sports and national/international 

tournaments. 

The tournament hall is made up of three floors. 

On the ground floor you find the side entrance for the teams and 

the 

court officials. Furthermore all rooms which are important for 

looking 

after the players are located here as well. For example the rooms 

for 

medical care, physiotherapy and doping control are on this floor. 

Besides there are the press centre, several administration and 

technic 

rooms. But the large part of this floor is characterized by the event 

hall 

where the Yonex German Open 2006 will take place. 

In the basement players and coaches will find the changing rooms 

and 

the warming up hall. Next to the warming up hall the promoter has 

installed the communication centre and in the third part of this area 

the Yonex Lounge is located. 

On the first floor are the entrances for spectators and the gallery. 

Spectators have to use outside stairs to reach the two entrances 

and the 

counters. A large covered forecourt protects against wind and rain. 

The 

spectators reach their places after crossing the gallery. There are 

the 


entrances of the stands. From every point of the gallery you can 

look 

down to watch the plays. Here are the Yonex exhibition stands and 

some 

information stands for badminton fans as well. 

Last but not least you find a possibility for something to eat or to 

have 

a drink or a glass of beer and our VIP’s can get into the VIP-Lounge. 

Therefore they have to go upstairs into a higher room with a glass 

veranda 

from where they can directly look down to the courts. It is great fun 

to 

watch the plays from this special place. 

Safety Measures 

[Documents, Passports and Money]. 

Because of the experience with the Mercure Hotel last year we can 

now offer 

the Best Western Hotel which is a house with internal hotel safe 

system. The 

safe is equipped with separate safe boxes which would be available 

for you. 

They are all lockable and you would get the key after putting the 

box into the 

safe. This system is very easy but effective. 

The three other hotels either Hotel Kuhn, Dümptener Hof or Hotel 

Haus Kastanienhof are old-established and family businesses. We 

have every confidence in the operators and their staff. 

For all that we want to ask you urgently to keep an eye on your 

valuables 

like money, travel documents, checks and credit cards. Please do 

not let 

your valuables lie around open. Put all valuable private things out 

of sight. 

Shut always the door correctly when you leave the hotel room. 

You will have to shut the door as well if you leave the room just for 

one 

moment. 

Another tip for your safety: 


Please do not put a note outside the door-handle! It shows that you 

are out 

for a longer time. 

Shuttle Bus Transfer 

[from the tournament hotels to RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle during 

the event]. 

Already One day before the official start of the Yonex German Open 

2006 [Tuesday, 10 th January, 2006] we will offer you a shuttle bus 

transfer. 

From Monday, 9 th January, 2006 a shuttle bus will run round 

between 

the three tournament hotels “Best Western Hotel / Hotel Kuhn / 

Dümptener Hof” and the tournament hall. The bus will run 

according 

to a fixed schedule [timetable for shuttle bus transfer] and will 

always 

stop at the same places. 

For traffic reasons there is a special underground bus stop near 

Best Western Hotel. People who want to use the bus at this station 

can find a short explanation of the way afterwards. 

The way is very easy to find and not far to go. 

The two other bus stops [at Hotel Kuhn and at the tournament hall] 

you will find directly at the hotel and in front of the hall. Both are 

clearly marked by signposts. 

For a completely unproblematic use of the shuttle bus transfer it 

is very important to know the correct time and place when and 

where 

the bus is running! Therefore we have made an information sheet 

called “timetable of shuttle bus transfer”. This information sheet 

you will get with your supporting documents. 

Beyond that you can get it: 


• at the three tournament hotels; 

• in Haus Kastanienhof; 

• in the Yonex German Open Lounge; 

• at the help desk; 

• in the tournament hall RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle; 

• in the practise hall Südstrasse 

and 

• in the Chinese Restaurant in the Forum. 

Shuttle Bus Transfer [Bus stops and ways {Outline}]. 

It is very important especially for the teams, coaches and court 

officials 

not to have transfer problems. We are endeavoured to organize a 

smooth 

course of transfer. Therefore it would be good if participants knew 

the most 

important ways. 

Explanations: 

Way I. 

From the Best Western Hotel to the shuttle bus. 

Coming out of the hotel please go right hand into the passageway. 

There 

you find several entrances to underground bus stations. Please use 

the 

second entrance on the right side [just behind Mc Donald’s] and go 

downstairs. There is the bus stop of the shuttle bus. You will find it 

easily! 

The bus stop is marked visibly. 

Way II. 


From the bus stop under the Forum back to the Best Western Hotel 

or to 

the Chinese Restaurant. 

If you arrive at the underground bus stop you will have to go 

upstairs. 

In the passageway go left hand through the glass door into the 

Forum. 

Next to the clothing store you find right hand the entrance of the 

Best 

Western Hotel. If you want to go to the Chinese Restaurant you will 

just 

keep going straight ahead. Please keep on going on the left side 

then 

you cannot miss the Chinese Restaurant. 

Way III. 

From bus stop RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle to the entrance for all 

participants. 

When you get off the bus please go left hand into the side path 

beside 

the hall. After some metres to go you can already see the side 

entrance 

on the right side. 

Way IV. 

From the bus stop in front of the RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle to 

King 

Hattrick and the Practise Hall. 

When you get off the bus you have to go right hand. You have to go 

all 

the way up the hall to the stairs on the right side. There you will find 

a 

side path which leads directly to stairs. When you go upstairs you 

are on the car park in front of the House of Sports. On the right side 

is 

the entrance of King Hattrick [Yonex German Open Lounge] and on 

the 


left side you can see the entrance of the practise hall. 

Both entrances and the side path are marked visibly. 

We can only guarantee a smooth transfer when all participants will 

arrive on time and at the marked places. 

Therefore we want to point out the four bus stops: 

RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle: 

The bus stop is on the left of the front side of the hall, near the 

stairs 

and under the blue nameplate “RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle”. 

Bus Stop Forum: 

The bus stop is on the underground station in the underpass! 

the bus stop is marked visibly. 

Hotel Dümptener Hof: 

The bus stop is right hand from the main entrance. There is also a 

public bus stop in the street. The bus stop of the shuttle bus will be 

there as well. It is marked visibly. 

Hotel Kuhn: 

The bus stop is right hand from the main entrance on the hard 

shoulder in front of the restaurant “Distel”. The bus stop is marked 

visibly. 

A remark on one’s own behalf. 

Players, coaches or officials who have to be in the tournament hall 

on 

time should not take “the last bus”! Please take an earlier bus 

because 

there are roadworks along the street and it could be possible that 

the 

bus is a little late. Sorry but we have not got any influence on it. 

String Service. 


As it was the case throughout the Yonex German Open 2005 the 

main sponsor 

Yonex Ltd. will offer a repair and string service as well. 

It is located on the same floor where the courts are. You can find it 

easily right 

hand behind the exit when you leave the court. 

The repair and string service is at all participant’s disposal. 

The payment of any arising costs is a matter of opinion and will be 

decided by 

Yonex Ltd..

Tournament Hotels. 

For the Yonex German Open 2006 we are able to offer two modern 

well designed 

city hotels and two smaller hotels which are both family 

businesses. 

All tournament hotels are very convenient as far as public transport 

goes. 


The first one is the 

Best Western Hotel im Forum Mülheim. 

This bright and pleasant 4-stars house offers its guests a friendly 

atmosphere, large well furnished rooms [bath/shower and WC 

including] plus a rich breakfast buffet in a modern designed 

breakfast room. Further there is a possibility of ordering some 

snacks or a small supper. For this case we would recommend a 

short arrangement with a staff member. As the hotel is located in 

the Forum it is also very easy to go to one of the snack bars or to 

eat in the Chinese restaurant which you can find in the opposite 

part of the Forum.

The second one is the 

Hotel Kuhn. 

This 3-stars house is very pleasant. The rooms are modern 

furnished [bath/shower 

and WC including]. As this hotel is a family business many guests 

appreciate the 

personal atmosphere. Especially the country stile furnished 

evening restaurant 

“Distel” is very popular. Worth mentioning is the rich breakfast 

buffet which is 

served in the restaurant as well. Hotel Kuhn is also convenient as 

far as public

The Dümptener Hof is a family business as well. The restaurant is 

very popular

Training 

[Facilities Practise Hall Südstrasse]. 


It is quite normal that on great tournaments the organizer offers the 

possibility for training. The promoter has arranged a free training 

for 

all teams from Sunday, 8 th January, 2006 until Saturday, 14 th 

January, 

2006. The training takes place in the practise hall “Südstrasse” of 

the 

Olympic Training Centre Rhein-Ruhr, next to the House of Sports 

and 

upside of the RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle [100 m walking distance]. 

With around 40 participant MA the requirements of the practise 

courts 

will be very high. We therefore will publish a fixed practise 

schedule on 

the main practise days from Monday, 9 th till Thursday, 12 th of 

January. 

This schedule is fixed and not changeable. 

Requests relating to practise time and number of courts before 

Monday, 

9 th January and on the days of the quarterfinals onwards have to 

hand in

sure things run smoothly. You can find Mr. Matthias Hütten and his 

staff in the practise hall during the whole practise time. The exact 

way from the shuttle bus transfer to the practise hall is described in 

a separate outline. 

Transfer

Arrival. 

We have organized a free transfer for all teams, officials and guests 

on 

their arrival. This offer only concerns to all participants who arrive 

at 

• Düsseldorf International Airport; 

• Düsseldorf main station; 

• Essen main station. 

For all guests who arrive at 

• Airport Weeze/Niederrhein 

or 

• Airport Köln/Bonn 

we would organize a transfer twice a day if required. In this case 

the costs 

would proportionately divided between the transfer users. In this 

connection 

we would like to note that arrivals can also travel to Mülheim an der 

Ruhr by 

train. We would like to help arrived teams with the arrangements 

but you have 

to bear the costs by yourself. 

For organizing reasons all arrivals will be driven to the RWE Rhein- 

Ruhr 

Sporthalle at first. Guests who arrive by themselves also have to 

come to 

the RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle before they can move in their 

hotels. 

That is very important because the accreditation can only take 

place in 

the RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle. In the communication centre each 

team 

captain, official or guest will get all information, records and things 

which 

will be necessary. 

Afterwards the teams, officials and guests will be driven to their 

accommodations. This happens either by the shuttle bus transfer or 

if 

necessary by a special transfer car. Then you can check in. 


Beyond that we want to let you know that we arrange an all-day 

reception 

at Düsseldorf National/International Airport. Throughout the two 

days 

when most of the participants will arrive [Monday, 9 th January and 

Tuesday, 

10 th January 2006] Mrs. Lisa Zender and Mr. Gerd Paulus will be on 

the spot 

to help you with the transfer. He or she will meet you in the arrival 

lounge 

to take you to the shuttle bus. 

For organizing reasons it may be happen that in isolated cases you 

have to wait a little. It will not be long and one of the staff members 

will 

see to you. 

For understandable reasons we want to point out that a smooth 

transfer 

can only be guaranteed when you tell us the correct arrival time 

and the 

flight number at least 48 hours before your arrival. 

Departure. 

We will hand all departure data to Mr. Alex Grabowsky. He is the 

head of 

the transfer team. If there are no departure data or if they have 

changed 

you will have to inform Mr. Alex Grabowsky at least 48 hours before 

departure. 

In that case you have to go to the transfer desk in the 

communication 

centre in the RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle to inform Mr. Grabowsky. 

Then he will organize an effective and reliable transfer. 

Everybody will find his or her individual transfer data in his or her 

file 

on time. 

Please read that note conscientiously. You know, a smooth 

departure 

can only be possible when you are punctually on the spot. 


Venue. 


The new multifunctional hall is named by its sponsor the RWE 

Rhein-Ruhr AG. 

The event hall is placed in the position of the Carl-Diem Sporthalle 

where already 

German Open Championships had been taken place in former 

times. The new 

Badminton era in this hall started with the last year’s Yonex 

German Open in Febr./March 2005.

Warming Up Hall. 

The promoter has arranged a warming up hall for the players to get 

ready for 

their plays. 

The hall is located in the first part of the three-parted practise hall 

in the l 

basement of the tournament hall [just next to the communication 

centre]. 


The hall is bright, warm and modern. Yonex Ltd. has also fitted the 

hall with 

an original Yonex Court. 

The hall is available for all players throughout the whole 

tournament. 

Yonex German Open Lounge “King Hattrick”. 

The Yonex German Open Lounge is one of the facilities which can 

be used throughout the whole tournament and offers every 

participant 

who is allowed to get meal tickets an all-day food an drink-service. 

The Yonex German Open Lounge is located in the restaurant “King 

Hattrick”. For individual questions please get in touch with Mrs. 

Uschi 

Claasen. She is the proprietess of the restaurant “King Hattrick” 

and will 

take care for your requests. 

“King Hattrick” is a traditional fair restaurant which has attended 

arrangements, meetings and courses for the German Badminton 

Association, the Badminton Association of North-Rhine Westfalia 

and 

the Olympic Training Centre Rhine-Ruhr for many years. 

In 2005 “King Hattrick” also attended the European Badminton 

Union 

Summer School with professional food on our national chief 

coach’s 

suggestion. 

During the Yonex German Open “King Hattrick” offers one daily 

warm 

lunch and one daily warm/cold dinner in the Yonex German Open 

Lounge. Both lunch and dinner always consist of three different 

dishes 

from which you can choose one. For drinking you can choose 

between 

a glass [0.3 l] of mineral water, apple-juice spritzer or tea. 


“King Hattrick” will always put a note up in the public bar where 

you 

can read the dishes for the next day. 

“King Hattrick” is located in the House of Sports just beside the 

practise hall Südstrasse. It is only 20 or 30 metres from the 

tournament 

hall RWE Rhein-Ruhr Sporthalle. The Yonex German Open Lounge 

is 

opened: 

* for lunch : 12.00 – 15.00 

12.00 [noon] – 03.00 p.m. 

* for dinner : 16.30 – 21.00 

04.30 p.m. – 09.00 p.m. 

Besides the dishes the Yonex German Open Lounge will offer some 

snacks 

which can be bought any time. Because of the discount prices the 

Yonex 

German Open Lounge can only be taken up by the owners of meal 

tickets. 

Beyond that it is naturally possible for everyone to eat in the 

restaurant 

“King Hattrick”. The menu comprises a lot of various dishes.
