Thanksgiving Day - Lifting Jesus high!This year’s Thanksgiving Day was not onlya time of thanking God for His continuingprovision at the Centre, it was also a time ofreflection, repentance and lifting Jesus high,which we joyfully did in song with ‘We wantto see Jesus lifted high’ at our morning HolyCommunion Service. During the service theMinistry Team and those involved with thework of the CCHC were anointed.Bishop Richard Jackson preached a challengingsermon on Christ’s healing and told us anamusing, but encouraging, story of how he firstbecame involved with the healing ministry. Ithappened in India at the end of a very noisy andchaotic service. He had been asked to pray forthe sick, which was a bit daunting as he hadonly been a Christian for eighteen months andthe healing ministry was new to him! However,he faithfully ministered to a lady who was bentdouble. Praying a simple prayer for her to ‘getbetter’, he found out three days later thatshe had indeed been healed! The lady was sograteful to the Lord that she started a churchin her house!At lunch time, we broke with the usualtradition of separate lunches and aPloughman’s lunch, lovingly prepared by ourhardworking hospitality team, was served toeveryone. Thanks to the lovely weather, wewere all able to fellowship together outside.18
