When I am old I will wear purple!This Teaching Day in April was so popular thatanother is planned on 18 th November. It is fullybooked, but if you would like to be consideredfor a cancellation, do give the office a ring andput your name on the waiting list.The light hearted, but also thought provokingday, which was based on a poem by JennyJoseph, was led by Steve & Veronica Gendalland one of our Prayer Ministers, Dr RachelFawcett (pictured right).Brenda Russell, one of our Visiting Chaplains,shares her thoughts on the day:This Teaching Day was an opportunity forrecognising that however old we are, God lovesus and has a purpose for our lives. It was a day offun, learning, reassurance, challenge and a time toreflect on our own life journeys and God’s purposefor our lives.Fifty people attended and really got into the spiritof the day! They came wearing purple and redhats, and purple balloons and decorations weredotted around the Chapel; as you can see from thephotos, Steve and Rachel were both suitably attiredfor the day’s theme!Apart from lots of laughter, there was also worship,Bible study, teaching, sharing, and space to reflectand pray.Sessions were:Letting Go: Embracing a new identityOur life story: Healing the hurtsLooking forward: Joyfully living the presentmoment.One of our Facebook followers, Jean, sums upin a nutshell what the day meant to her:“Thank you for today. An inspiring mixture oflaughter, teaching and reflection.
