in Roscommon on October 25th 1843 and who married Helenora NEAL (NEIL)),
John, Michael, James, William and Patrick. The two daughters were Kate who
married James C MILLER and Hanorah or Nora (later MCLOUGHLIN). Patrick's
grandfather and Michael's father was Malachi LALLY who had married a lady by the
name of COSGROVE. I do not know her Christian name. Malachi and Miss
COSGROVE had a number of children who included Peter, Thomas, James, Nancy
BURNS or BEIRNE and Mary COYNE. Nancy Beirne may have married Thady
BEIRNE. My GGF Patrick and his father left Ireland in 1865 and settled in Hartford.
Peter stayed in Derrycahill (Roscommon) and married Mary FALLON. Tom went to
America presumably also to the Hartford area. Michael stayed in Ahascragh and was
a grocer/baker by trade for some time but may also have moved to the States. His
brother James is said to have also been "living a few miles away" and I am presuming
that to be in Kilglass or near Ahascragh. A further brother William LALLY married
Margaret JOYCE in Manhattan NY in October 1880. Any information in relation to
any of the above would be appreciated.), James Lally, jalally@bigpond.com
LALLY – (I am looking for information about Margaret LALLY (my great
grandmother) born in Galway in the 1850's. She married a KEHOE who was a
butcher. I think he died in the States & Margaret became a janitor in San Francisco.
Later she ran a boarding house for recent Irish immigrants. I'm not sure if they were
married in Ireland or in the States. They had six children- Mary, Cecilia, Martin, Jack,
Tom & Bridget. My grandmother was Mary Rose born 1878 in San Francisco. I think
my grandmother was the eldest. I am planning a trip to Ireland & would like to know
more information about my great grandmother), Kathryn Bennett Schoendorf, Menlo
