Old Town Hall with the Astronomical Clock<br />

Established as the seat of the Old Town authorities,<br />

enlarged and reconstructed throughout the<br />

centuries. <strong>The</strong> oldest Gothic section, <strong>in</strong>clud<strong>in</strong>g a<br />

tower and an oriel chapel, was built <strong>in</strong> the latter<br />

half of the 14th century. In the top section of the<br />

astronomical clock (early 15th century), the 12<br />

apostles appear every hour from 9 am-9 pm<br />

Lesser Town Bridge Towers /MALOSTRANSKÉ MOSTECKÉ VÌZ¡ E/<br />

40 Kč. <strong>The</strong> smaller Romanesque tower from the 12th century, is a relic<br />

from the Judita’s Bridge, the higher Gothic tower was built 200 years<br />

later (1464)<br />

Old Town Bridge Tower /STAROMÌSTSKÁ MOSTECKÁ VÌZ¡/<br />

Staré Město, <strong>Prague</strong> 1; open daily 10 am-5 pm, admission 50 Kč, reduced<br />

40 Kč. <strong>The</strong> most beautiful gate from Gothic Europe was built before<br />

1380. It is richly adorned with sculptures and statues<br />

St. Nicholas’ Church - the Belfry /ZVONICE CHRÁMU SV. MIKULÁŠE/<br />

Malostranské nám., <strong>Prague</strong> 1, closed until spr<strong>in</strong>g, admission 50 Kč,<br />

reduced 40 Kč. <strong>The</strong> belfry of the St. Nicolas’ Church is also open to the<br />

public and offers a beautiful view of the Lesser Town<br />

Powder Tower /PRAŠNÁ BRÁNA/ Na Příkopě, <strong>Prague</strong> 1, closed until spr<strong>in</strong>g,<br />

admission 50 Kč, reduced 40 Kč. A monumental entrance to the Old<br />

Town built by Matěj Rejsek <strong>in</strong> 1475 <strong>in</strong> the Gothic style<br />

Petřín Observation Tower<br />

/PETØÍNSKÁ ROZHLEDNA/ Petřínské sady, <strong>Prague</strong> 1; open Sat-Sun 10 am-<br />

5 pm, admission 50 Kč, reduced 40 Kč. A sixty-meter iron tower with 299<br />

steps built for the Jubilee Exhibition <strong>in</strong> 1891 as a scaled-down copy of the<br />

Eiffel Tower, last entry at 5 30 pm<br />

Maze /BLUDIŠTÌ/ Petřínské sady, <strong>Prague</strong> 1, open Sat-Sun 10 am-5 pm,<br />

admission 50 Kč, reduced 40 Kč. A pavillion built <strong>in</strong> 1891 for the Jubilee<br />

Exhibition, later transferred to Petřín. Inside there is a mirror maze
