Cathedral from All Sides - Stonemarks<br />
Result of the <strong>in</strong>ternational project Stonemarks (supported by the EU)<br />
that aimed to collect the stonemarks to an <strong>in</strong>ternational database.<br />
Admission free with the visit to the cathedral.<br />
OLD ROYAL PALACE, THE THERESIAN WING<br />
<strong>The</strong> Beauty of the Military Service -<br />
<strong>The</strong> Best of the Military Archive's Collections, until Jun 24<br />
<strong>The</strong> exhibition presents <strong>in</strong>terest<strong>in</strong>g artifacts rang<strong>in</strong>g from archaeology to<br />
hunt<strong>in</strong>g and military weapons, orders and decorations and personal<br />
belong<strong>in</strong>gs of noblemen. <strong>The</strong>re are also oriental weapons, shoot<strong>in</strong>g targets<br />
and weapons from the Wild West. In cooperation with the Military<br />
Archive <strong>in</strong> <strong>Prague</strong>.<br />
IMPERIAL STABLES<br />
From the St. Vitus Treasure: Bohuslav Hasištejnský, a Poet<br />
and Politician from the Jagellon Period, until Jul 1<br />
<strong>The</strong> exhibition presents an image of the period at the turn of the 15th and<br />
16th century, through the life story of an outstand<strong>in</strong>g Czech poet and<br />
<strong>in</strong>tellectual, Bohuslav Hasištejnský. In addition to top goldsmith works<br />
from the St. Vitus Treasury, pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs and sculptures will also be exhibited<br />
that represent the spiritual atmosphere, life style and relationship to<br />
death <strong>in</strong> that period. Among the superior works presented, are <strong>in</strong>cluded<br />
pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs by Lorenza Costa, Joos van Cleve and Hans Schäufele<strong>in</strong>, etch<strong>in</strong>gs<br />
by Albrecht Dürer, sculpture busts of Ladislav and Magdalena of<br />
Boskovice, an illum<strong>in</strong>ated grail from the Loucký Monastery <strong>in</strong> Znojmo<br />
and the manuscript of the Alberti's essay on architecture. Bohuslav's<br />
remarkable library, one of the biggest private European libraries of the<br />
time, will also be presented through examples.<br />
PRAGUE CASTLE PICTURE GALLERY<br />
Fallacy: Samuel van Hoogstraten (1627-1678), from Mar 13-Jun 10<br />
Another part of the 'Picture Gallery under a Magnify<strong>in</strong>g Glass' cycle, i. e.<br />
the story of another art work from the <strong>Prague</strong> Castle Collections. This<br />
exhibition presents a phenomenon of the 17th century, the trompe d'oeil<br />
retirements, through two of Hoogstraten's pa<strong>in</strong>t<strong>in</strong>gs.<br />
