Ergo-Learn 

Musculoskeletal problems arise as a result of constrained 

postures whilst in a sedentary state; students who are 

timetabled extensively to be seated are prone to these 

problems. The ergonomic problems identified can be easily 

averted with a comfort and posture-enhancing, pressuredistributing 

sitting aid; thus Ergo-Learn was devised. It 

consists of a lumbar and ischium support (back and pelvis). 

Ergo-Learn is easily transportable for an on-the-move 

student, using its self-fold-carry procedure. Ergo-Learn is the 

new ergonomic seating aid.

Flow: An efficient way to 

dry clothes 

Flow is a collapsible clothes drying system which uses a 

series of quiet but powerful fans to maintain a constant flow 

of air over clothing as it dries. Flow dries clothes more than 

twice as quickly as a conventional clothes airer and uses 

29 times less electricity than a tumble dryer, saving close 

to £100 in bills every year. Flow folds into an integrated, 

compact plastic case to make storage tidy and simple.

ELEMENT – 

rapid towel dryer 

During placement I worked out in the morning and took a 

shower at the gym. I was left with a damp towel in my bag 

for the rest of the day. 

ELEMENT is a rapid towel dryer for changing rooms that 

uses hot air to dry the towel in under ten minutes. It forms 

the air into sheets that passes over the towel, drawing away 

the moisture and leaving the user with a dry towel to put 

back in their bag.

Stay-Cool: the self-cooling 

water bottle 

Keeping a cool refreshing drink whilst on holiday in hot 

climates can be difficult. Stay-Cool allows the user to put 

any beverage inside the bottle and successfully cool the 

contents to a refreshing temperature, regardless of its 

original temperature. Inserting a gas capsule underneath 

the container creates the cooling process. When the gas 

expands it cools drastically and therefore cools the inside 

content of the water bottle, thus providing a cool refreshing 

beverage in almost any environmental condition. 


LOCO outdoor inclusive 

play equipment 

Play is an essential part of any child’s physical and mental 

development. There is a lack of specific outdoor play 

equipment for many children with special education needs, 

especially children with autism. 

Introducing LOCO, a train perfect for any school playground. 

Providing a sensory experience for children of all abilities, 

the giant water vortex swirls and spins, encouraging a world 

of imagination. The different features create a fun, exciting 

playground experience whilst encouraging social interaction 

and sensory development.

The ProShield vest 

After product analysis and feedback from UK Police Officers, 

I found the current stab vest doesn’t meet the user’s needs. 

The ProShield vest offers far greater protection by increasing 

the coverage of the body, making them less vulnerable 

to knife and spike threats. Answering the ergonomic 

requirements of today’s user, it includes; a breathable 

cooling lining, hi powered LED torch, Hi-Vis panels, larger 

pockets, padded shoulders, lightweight waterproof jacket 

storage, and KlickFast mounts for airwave radio, smart 

phone and torch. 


OS-Leisure Pack 

With more people escaping to the outdoors every day, being 

prepared is the key to having a good time. The OS-Leisure 

Pack challenges the major problems we face outdoors while 

retaining space for your necessary items. 

It features a seating element, a removable waste 

compartment, a lighting element, a hydration pack, and a 

removable water cover for you and your bag. The OS-Leisure

On-Target: football 

shooting aid 

Current football shooting aids on the market have proved 

monotonous and disengaging for youngsters to use when 

training both alone and in groups. The aim of the ‘On-Target’ 

shooting aid is to try and engage and interact with its users 

when training and to allow coaches or trainers to adapt and 

personalise their training sessions. ‘On-Target’ features 

a wrist controller and uses both light and sound to help 

engage users. 


No Butts Litter Picker 

Unlike ordinary litter pickers, the No Butts Litter Picker 

does not have any difficulty when it comes to removing 

cigarette butts from grassy surfaces such as parks and 

other recreational areas. This product sucks up cigarette 

butts manually using a piston mechanism, so there are no 

inconvenient batteries to run dry. The No Butts Litter Picker 

also functions as a regular litter picker meaning the user just 

needs the one product to tidy up.

The last ten years have seen many improvements in tackling 

malaria in the developing world, with a wide range of safer 

biological pesticides being developed for reducing the 

prevalence of mosquitoes. However, when surveyed there 

are as of yet no effective means of delivering these new 

pesticides to mosquito breeding sites effectively. 

The Anti-Vec © is an aquatic pesticide dispenser that 

delivers the pesticide through the top level of water 

preventing infant mosquitoes from maturing into malaria 

spreading adults. 


LightScribe 

LightScribe is a new product designed specifically to 

introduce people to the practice of light painting. With five 

full colour LEDs, each independently controlled by the user, 

there really is no end to what you can create. 

Use LightScribe as a pen and turn the night into your 

canvas, where light itself is your ink. Paint beautifully 

abstract sweeps and swirls with the integrated LED light 

strip, or use the globe attachment to create amazing ‘Light 

Orbs’ with ease.

for kayaks 

With developments in technology, recent years have 

seen increasing widespread use of cycling accessories 

in kayaking. The limpet offers an interface between all 

handlebar-mounted accessories such as GPSs, heart-rate 

monitors and lights, thus bridging the gap between these 

universal accessories and the specific needs of kayaking. 

The limpet can be intuitively mounted to any kayak within 

seconds without the use of tools. Through extensive stress 

analysis, the limpet is designed to be a durable, essential 

piece of kayaking equipment.

EcoDuo: waste 

compression bin 

The amount of household waste we produce is constantly 

rising, leading to numerous trips to take rubbish out, as well 

as overflowing wheelie bins, which pose health and safety 

risks and can even incur fines. The EcoDuo reduces these 

issues, while also encouraging recycling within the home. 

The EcoDuo is a kitchen waste unit, housing both general 

and recyclable compartments, which allow for the waste 

they contain to be compressed to hold up to three times 

more than standard bins. 


RAid Cookware 

Rheumatoid arthritis is an inflammatory disease that affects 

the smaller joints of the hand and wrist. For people with 

rheumatoid arthritis using conventional stove-based cooking 

equipment is a painful and uncomfortable experience. 

RAid Cookware is a range of stove-based cooking equipment 

that solves this problem by spreading the weight of the 

equipment over the larger joints in the arms. With all current 

aids highlighting the fact users need specialist help, it was 

important to make RAid Cookware a design feature of 

the kitchen.

The Wheelchair Pushchair 

The Wheelchair Pushchair is a unique product aimed at 

allowing a wheelchair user to travel easily from the house 

or car and be independent enough to wheel themselves 

and their baby. It encourages close interaction, essential for 

building bonds in a baby’s first year.

It gives the user freedom to take a baby out in a safe, secure,

AquaFlow 

Since the beginning of this year, at least nine water 

companies have imposed hose pipe bans. 

AquaFlow uses the stored rain water in a waterbutt and 

creates enough flow and pressure to be able to water a 

garden using a hose. Simply attach the hose pipe to one end 

and the waterbutt to the other and water the garden using 

pressure and flow identical to mains water.

FiVE 

It is important children maintain a healthy and balanced 

diet, and eating fruits and vegetables is an essential part 

of achieving this. FiVE is a reward system designed to 

allow a child in Key Stage 1 to record their daily fruit and 

vegetable intake, with the aim of lighting all five stars, each 

representing one of the recommended portions. 

FiVE will be used within teaching schemes that aim to 

encourage healthy eating habits which can be carried into 

later life. 


Ag+03 - First line 

of defence 

Major league ice hockey players have the staff and facilities 

to clean and look after their armour. However amateur 

players are not aware of the risks from dangerous levels of 

bacteria on their kit. 

The Ag+03 is a domestic cleaning unit that addresses this 

hygiene issue and applies a silver dihydrogen citrate steam 

to the body armour. It is simple to use, which encourages a 

regular cleaning routine, and can be folded for storage when 

not in use.

The SwimHare pace setter 

The SwimHare is a completely new and innovative 

swimming training aid that uses LED lighting along the 

bottom of the pool, providing an accurate and competitive 

marker for pace.

W.G LIFT 

In the UK the annual economic cost of low back pain in lost 

productivity and disability or sickness benefits is estimated 

to be more than £10 billion. The W.G LIFT has been designed 

to aid users in the delivery of white goods into the home. 

Its design enables an easy transport into the home, and 

with a hydraulic lifting mechanism the product can be fitted 

underneath the kitchen worktop in a swift and easy motion. 

My time at Bournemouth University and an industrial 

placement year has provided me with skills that I hope to 

build upon in a future design career.

A blind summit, often called a blind spot, is a road 

that peaks or turns sharply, making oncoming vehicles 

impossible to see. With an ever-increasing driving 

population in the UK, road accident statistics are rising.

This road warning sign will be situated on both sides of the 

blind peak. As a vehicle passes in one direction, the sign 

positioned on the opposite peak warns of danger, allowing 

any oncoming traffic to slow down accordingly. 


Water filter for third 

world schools 

An estimated 3.75 million people die as a result of 

waterborne diseases every year. Children are particularly 

at risk; one child dies every twenty seconds from a waterrelated 

disease. This product aims to change that statistic. 

This product filters contaminated water to produce 

clean, safe drinking water to be used within the school 

environment located in third world countries. The product 

produces clean drinking water by removing viruses and 

bacteria using a gravity-fed membrane filter.

Pulpyrus: the paper 

pulp maker 

Just as ancient Egyptians were resourceful when it came to 

making paper; the Pulpyrus will enable slum school pupils to 

make their own draft paper from scavenged recycled paper. 

This pulp maker is more efficient than manual “one turn at 

a time” mill devices. Based on a spinning mechanism, with 

one push down of the button and one pull up motion, the 

blades spin in total twelve times resulting in less effort and 

faster results.

Synth respirator 

My product is a particulate respirator designed for the 

British Fire Service when tackling wild fires. My mask 

combats the five main issues with the current mask used 

by the fire service; communication, heat, carbon dioxide, 

condensation build-up and valve resistance. It is fan driven, 

providing the user with a clean breathing experience. 

The mask is designed with a clear mouth-piece so fire 

fighters can see each others lips moving, proven to increase 

communicative abilities by at least 35%. 


BreezeDry 

BreezeDry is a ski boot dryer that can dry wet ski boots in 

less than two hours, half the time of other leading products 

currently on the market. The unique and innovative design 

of the nozzle, which blows the air from the front end straight 

out the top, makes it highly efficient. Folding legs make it 

ideal for compact and lightweight travel in your luggage. 

BreezeDry also has an added odour-eliminating fragrance 

stick that keeps your boots smelling fresh every time.

Cupcollect 

Each year the 2.5 billion take-away cups sold by UK coffee 

shops go to landfill. The small plastic content within the 

cups prevents them from being reprocessed in general 

cardboard recycling programs.

Cupcollect is a recycling bin that encourages customers to 

return to the store and dispose of their cups responsibly. The 

one arm bandit inspired mechanism crushes the cup and 

punches a token out of its base, which can then be used as 

part of a customer loyalty scheme. 


Carease 

My product, the Carease, is designed with the user’s 

comfort and wellbeing in mind. Its simple form and structure 

is designed to make transporting goods a hassle-free 

experience. The Carease is also intended to help reduce the 

huge amount of plastic bags in circulation today, designed to 

be produced cheaply and to last. 

This product will stop people using and throwing away 

these environmentally damaging items on a regular basis.

Gelert Venture 

My project is a response to a live brief proposed by Gelert; 

I have designed and produced a bicycle pannier bag and solo 

tent combination kit. The essential function of the pannier 

bag is to hold the tent, but it also provides compartments for 

additional storage.

My primary concern of the tent was its pack-down 

properties; I have reduced the size and weight by 

introducing a diamond shape, using one pole, but also

The Warning Buoy 

This Warning Buoy incorporates the standard zone-marking 

buoy and adds new technology. It uses a hydrophone at the 

base to monitor frequencies of passing boats. Using filters 

and a programmed chip, the buoy is able to release visual/ 

audible alarms to alert water vessels when they exceed 

the specified amplitude. The warning buoy also harnesses 

energy from the sea to power itself.

Luxuri – self-cooling ice 

cream maker 

Luxuri can create ice cream straight from ingredient form 

into ice cream. This device aerates and cools simultaneously. 

By introducing the cooling element into the mix itself, it is 

possible to create a more uniformly crystallized ice cream, 

whilst more effectively utilising its cooling capacity. 

Luxuri aims to make the ice cream making process as 

accessible for the user as possible, accomplishing this 

through intuitive interface, ease of load/unloading and 

ease of cleaning, ultimately inviting the user to ENJOY 

ICE CREAM! 


Swift: Carpet cleaner 

attachment 

This product is designed to attach to a domestic vacuum 

cleaner, allowing the user to clean their floors easily. The 

design draws power from the airflow produced by the 

vacuum cleaner and uses this to put down cleaning fluid 

onto the carpet, then pick it back up before being emptied. 

The product features a 2.5 litre tank for cleaning fluid and a 

collapsible handle for easy storage.

style in the mobility product market carries with it a lack of 

dignity and gracefulness in growing older.

iGlide is the Apple® iPad mount for hang gliders. It allows 

pilots to utilise a variety of avionic apps and navigation 

software, replacing the need for existing instruments and 

GPS equipment. iGlide encases the iPad 2/3 in an antiglare, 

shock- and water-resistant shell whilst fitting to most 

common hang glider control bar types. 

iGlide is designed for minimal aerodynamic footprint and 

also features a miniature wind turbine that charges the iPad 

during flight.

storing a bicycle outdoors. Features include a robust lock,

LOCK-GO – Cycle parking 

for company employees 

There is an ever-increasing number of people choosing to 

commute by bicycle. Many people cycle to work but have 

nowhere to store their belongings. The LOCK-GO system 

provides a safe and secure unit to store cycle helmets and 

other related equipment, such as clothing. 

The unit comprises a secure bike stand to lock the bike to 

and a locking drawer to stow away possessions, offering 

cycle parking for two cycles per unit.

Relax: A sustainable 

solution to festival seating 

Glastonbury 2011 recycled 49% of the 1560 tonnes of waste 

created. However, the larger waste streams are unable to 

be recycled, ending in landfill. Relax is a sustainable seating 

solution aimed at festival attendees. It uses the four Rs of 

sustainability to create a chair which is: 

Reducing – the amount of chairs bought in by providing a 

leasable product. 

Reusable – from event to event. 

Repairable – maximising its life. 

Recyclable – at the end of its life cycle. 

Relax! 


PrimeOptic 

An optic is a device used worldwide in bars, restaurants, 

hotels and clubs to distribute accurate measures of liquid, 

commonly alcoholic spirits. Optics are a fantastic tool, 

minimising wastage and maintaining cleanliness. However, 

they are very difficult to clean. 

PrimeOptic aims to clean optics quickly and thoroughly, 

while utilising an efficient use of cleaning substances, 

maintaining a higher level of hygiene in the venue of use.

A sustainable, off-grid household 

lighting system for the developing world 

1.7 billion impoverished people worldwide live without 

access to public electricity and are forced to burn hazardous, 

inefficient fuels such as kerosene to light their homes. 

Sustainably designed, aurora is a renewably powered 

lighting system that uses removable lighting modules 

to distribute light. The product focuses on the user and 

local infrastructure to improve accessibility to affordable, 

permanent, reliable, versatile, repairable and safer lighting 

that overcomes ‘fear of change’ barriers. A global problem 

has been tackled with a localised solution. 


Punda Packs - water 

transportation pack saddle 

for donkeys 

In Kenya, donkeys are used on a daily basis to transport 

large volumes of water over great distances. However, 

the way in which the water is currently transported is 

unsuitable for both user and animal alike, causing lasting 

pain and discomfort to the donkey. Punda Packs creates 

a solution to this problem by providing the user with an 

easily attachable and simple to use product, protecting all 

of the donkey’s key areas as well as efficiently carrying the 

required amount of water.

Buddy Bag: Portable 

Insulin backpack 

The Buddy Bag is designed for diabetic children aged 3-7. 

The product aims to remove perceived stigmas surrounding 

personal medicine. A compact, detachable section is used 

to discretely and safely store all the needed equipment. 

Inside this section a clear interface directs how to help in an 

emergency. Buddy Bag provides security for the parents and 

adapts to the child’s lifestyle whilst enhancing their overall 

quality of life. I’d like to thank ‘Medic Alert’ for their support 

during the project. 


Gelert Barat 

The Gelert Barat is the perfect package for any cycling 

holiday. The product is designed to keep your bike inside 

your tent with you, to prevent your bike from being stolen. 

The tent packs down compactly into the small bag. The 

bag straps onto the pannier rack to save space within your 

panniers, helping to balance them better, making it safer for

immigrating foreign-born nationals who have fresh coconut 

as part of their staple diet. To start the grating process 

you simply break the coconut in half and place it onto the 

stainless steel serrated cone, apply pressure using the 

holding cone and press the push button. The product is easy 

to use, safe and easy to maintain. 


Turtle Alert 

Turtle Alert is an inclusively designed baby monitor for 

deaf and hard-of-hearing parents. Using a combination of 

vibrations, visual aids and sounds on the wrist strap, the 

parent is alerted when their baby is crying, day or night. 

The baby unit features a glow in the dark shell; a soothing 

night light for both parent and child, and satisfies babies’ 

craving for glowing things.

LUMEN: London 

Underground Maintenance 

& Emergency Navigation 

LUMEN is a lighting unit designed for Transport for 

London’s Underground network and uses energy from the 

piston effect of the trains. By illuminating the navigation 

path for escape, it allows passengers and staff to detrain, 

leaving safely and comfortably in emergency situations. 

Secondarily, LUMEN provides a stronger beam to function 

as task lighting for staff to perform maintenance and 

engineering works; putting the service back on track as 

soon as possible. 


Biomass Fuel Producer 

Designed in response to a soon-to-be-released government 

initiative, the Biomass Fuel Producer automatically 

converts waste paper and cardboard into a novel fuel brick. 

Optimised as a U shape, the fuel brick not only dries at an 

accelerated rate, but also gives the user four different burn 

characteristics when used in conjunction with a biomass 

boiler or log burner. This product will not only save the user 

money on fuel costs but also reduce the amount of waste 

produced by a typical home.

There are ten million people in the UK aged 60 or over. 

Easysoak is a showering control interface aimed at this 

aging user group, but aiming to be fully inclusive for all user 

types making the showering experience easier.

Cosy - Co-sleeping 

postnatal crib 

Cosy is a maternity crib that helps to remove the barriers to 

breastfeeding for women during their postnatal recovery. 

The design of the crib maximises maternal - infant 

interaction, especially with less mobile women, which is 

proven to help initiate breastfeeding. Frequent consultations 

with midwifery staff throughout the design allowed me to 

identify and integrate new features that were needed to 

improve patient care. 

This project has allowed me to develop my interest in 

product innovation and user-centred design solutions.

Sun-wipe: a sunscreen 

wipe dispensing unit 

Over-exposure to Ultra Violet Radiation (UVR) is an 

increasing issue in the UK. Much of this over-exposure 

occurs when people are actively seeking UVR to gain 

a suntan, specifically on beaches and in other coastal 

environments. Protection from UVR is not always readily 

available; Sun-wipe is a mechanical dispensing unit that 

offers sunscreen wipes in exchange for a monetary input. 

The unit is specifically designed for its working environment, 

with a concise and easily operated user interface. 


AirAid 

AirAid is designed to be the first free-fall aid package for 

water-based disasters. 

The lack of aid distribution meant that in the 2010 Pakistan 

floods over ten million people were left without clean 

drinking water for two weeks. The aim of AirAid is to 

allow for direct distribution to those in danger, whilst also 

providing a temporary shelter for those affected. 

I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Bournemouth 

University and I leave feeling prepared for my future 

in design.

MozLight 

MozLight is a solar-powered lantern with automated 

mosquito repellent dispersion technology. It has been 

designed to provide a safe alternative to kerosene lamps as 

a means of providing light to areas where electricity is not 

a viable source of energy. It incorporates a pump pressured 

spray to deliver mosquito repellent for use in malarial areas. 

The sustainable design has been a focus for its market with 

natives and travellers alike. 


Ride Safe 

Ride Safe is a product that gives a sports motorcycle rider 

the ability to provide a safer and more enjoyable riding 

experience for the passenger. It does so by allowing the 

pillion passenger to have a secure hold on the sports 

motorcycle, making the passenger more at ease under 

braking or acceleration. This also stops the passenger from 

swaying side to side around a corner, allowing the rider to 

have more control over the motorcycle, making it a more 

enjoyable ride for both.

Diabetes equipment 

storage for 18-25 year olds 

My product is a medical case for 18-25 year olds with Type 

1 Diabetes. It holds all the desired necessities for 24-hour 

care, as well as an equipment pouch held inside for short 

term use when space is limited. The case can be customized 

to suit people’s individual taste and there is also a selfmanagement 

system which allows the user to monitor their 

insulin intake. The product suits the individual’s illness 

without them having to compromise their lifestyle. 


Motorcycle GPS case 

The GPS motorcycle case project is a new entry to the market, 

saving money on motorcycle specific GPS units. 

The design provides a portable and adaptable case for a 

large range of GPS units that can be securely mounted to the 

windscreen of a motorcycle with ease. Focusing completely 

on the safety and the comfort of the rider during transport, 

the case can then be quickly removed and used on foot, 

completing the whole experience.

AIM field hockey 

training aid 

AIM (Accurate Interactive Mechanism) is a field hockey 

training aid for strikers aged 7-22. It is designed to help the 

user gain better skills at a younger age, and improve their 

skills in years to come. Children’s minds adapt to visuals 

and sounds, therefore my product allows them to engage in 

the sport and have more fun. The user can record their own 

voice. The product will interact with the user once a goal is 

scored; the lights and sounds will play, while an LCD screen 

counts the goals scored. You can add foam inserts into the 

hoop to make accuracy more difficult. The whole product 

moves around the goal on pulley systems allowing different 

shots to be taken. 


Soil Fertility Indicator for 

sub-Saharan Africa 

Agriculture is integral to success in rural Africa, having 

the potential to be an ‘engine for growth’ with small-scale 

farmers driving the process. 

Soil+ is a comprehensive, low cost solution designed to 

improve and enhance the farmer’s understanding of the 

soil properties, targeting fertiliser misuse and providing an 

indication of the overall soil fertility. The product calculates 

and infers pH and electrical conductivity values, comparing 

them to a benchmark ‘map’ of soil fertility, thus analysing 

fertility levels and making recommendations.

Internal freestanding focal 

point – The CHAMA Table 

This specification was to create a main focal point within 

a room. Focal points, such as fireplaces, often involve 

restructuring or remodelling the existing building, a long 

and expensive process that prohibits anyone renting a 

property from undertaking it. 

The product is based on psychological elements using 

horizontal lines, natural wood and soothing flames. The 

CHAMA table will fit into almost any room with no fixings, 

to maximise flexibility. 


Sled Relief (SR) 

The SR is a sustainable and versatile container that securely 

holds humanitarian disaster relief aid from a charity’s 

depot as it is taken to the injured and survivors. The SR’s 

footprint and ergo friendly handles make manoeuvring these 

50 kilogram packages over devastated terrains easier. Its 

secondary function is a jig/workbench, aiding the user when 

building permanent structures and A-frames, but has many 

other applications too. 

The SR is cheap to manufacture, store and transport, to suit 

any charity’s requirements.

Illumabright 

Illumabright is a new energy-efficient lighting product, 

designed to be retrofitted onto existing track systems found 

in many commercial properties. With three individually 

controllable light sources, all running high power LEDs; you 

gain energy efficiency and a multi-headed fixture all from 

one source. 

During my placement at 3T RPD Ltd, I learnt a lot about 

additive manufacturing, and could see its vast benefits in 

small batch production of complex parts, making it a great 

option for Illumabright. 


SoapSafe 

SoapSafe is a home medical solution to aid children with 

eczema and sensitive skin. The product addresses the 

problem of itching and irritation caused by soap residue on 

skin after bathtime, in hard-water areas. 

One in five children in the UK have eczema. Added 

fragrances and colours in bubble bath products cause 

irritation and can affect skin development. SoapSafe is 

designed to inform parents of the effect soap has on 

children’s skin, monitor which soaps are less harmful, and 

reduce aggravation.

Nexus Universal 

Electric Ratchet 

During my placement year I gained an insight into various 

ceiling mounted systems. The installation of these systems 

incorporates the use of threaded rods. It became apparent 

that there was a need for a tool that could spin nuts along 

threaded rods faster than manual means. My product is able 

to spin various sized nuts along threaded rods before being 

tightened manually using the inbuilt ratchet mechanism. 

Its intuitive combination of the ratchet mechanism and 

interchangeable heads means the tool can be used in 

various situations. 


Ascent - Mountain 

rescue stretcher 

Throughout the UK, specifically designed stretchers are 

critical pieces of equipment used by Mountain Rescue 

Teams. The Ascent stretcher is designed to enable transport 

of an injured person and crucial equipment used in mountain 

rescue situations, providing a platform that is adaptable to 

varied situations and environments. The Ascent stretcher 

represents a 17% weight reduction compared to the Bell 

stretcher which is widely used across the UK, allowing 

quicker set up time once it has reached an incident.

Deep Water 

Extrication Device 

The Deep Water Extrication Device is designed to reduce 

the growing number of spinal injuries in deep water. 

This is a result of the increasing popularity of potentially 

dangerous activities such as Tombstoning and Coasteering 

in recent years, and the inadequate equipment used in 

these situations. The product’s unique shape and features 

allow it to be quickly submerged, resized and secured to the 

casualty, while fully immobilising their spine. Rescue teams 

can then lift them into the lifeboat and transport them 

to safety.
