Jesienią... W okolicach Skowieszyna, Pożoga, Lasu<br />
Stockiego i Stoku występują przepiękne wąwozy lessowe,<br />
stanowiące część Kazimierskiego Parku Krajobrazowego. Ze<br />
względu na swój urok i malowniczość są określane przyrodniczym<br />
skarbem Lubelszczyzny. Nigdzie w Europie nie ma tak<br />
gęstej sieci wąwozów jak właśnie tu, na terenie Kazimierskiego<br />
Parku Krajobrazowego. Wąwozy lessowe są pozostałością<br />
okresu polodowcowego. Gruba warstwa osadów lessowych,<br />
falista rzeźba terenu, intensywne deszcze oraz gospodarka<br />
człowieka doprowadziły do powstania prawdziwego labiryntu<br />
wąwozów. Spacer wąwozami, od których odchodzi duża<br />
ilość rozgałęzień, dla niezorientowanego w terenie sprawia<br />
wrażenie labiryntu. Wąwozy porasta malowniczy las liściasty<br />
zwany grądem, składający się głównie z grabów, dębów i lip.<br />
Znajdują się tu siedliska wielu gatunków roślin, charakterystycznych<br />
zarówno dla terenów północnych i górskich, jak<br />
tez ciepłolubnej roślinności południowej. Dno oraz zbocza<br />
niektórych wąwozów zostały zabezpieczone przed erozją,<br />
co sprzyja pieszym i rowerowym wędrówkom. Wąwozy<br />
posiadają swoje miejscowe nazwy, dzięki<br />
którym kiedyś nasi ojcowie bez map<br />
potrafili trafić do najbardziej skrytego<br />
w terenie zakątka. W wąwozach nie<br />
tylko jesienią ale i przez cały rok można<br />
spotkać wiele odmian grzybów.<br />
Do rzadko spotykanych należą grzyby<br />
z rodziny smardzowatych. Smardz<br />
jadalny jest objęty ścisłą ochroną<br />
i został wpisany na Czerwoną listę<br />
grzybów wielkoowocnikowych zagrożonych<br />
w Polsce. Swoim wyglądem budzi<br />
zdziwienie wśród turystów, gdyż jest<br />
nieznany w innych regionach Polski.<br />
Autumn... Near Skowieszyn, Pożóg, Las Stocki, and Stok,<br />
there are beautiful lessive canyons which constitute a part of the<br />
Kazimierz Landscape Park. Due to their charm and picturesqueness,<br />
they are often referred to as the „natural treasure of the Lublin<br />
region.” Nowhere in Europe is there a pattern of canyons so dense<br />
as within the Kazimierz Landscape Park. Lessive canyons were<br />
created in the post-glacial period. Thick layer of lessive residues,<br />
wavy lie of the land, intensive rainfall, and human activity led<br />
to the creation of a veritable maze of canyons. Persons not<br />
knowing this area well really have the impression of being<br />
inside a labyrinth while visiting these canyons due to the large<br />
number of branch off points and forks. There is picturesque<br />
broadleaved forest in the canyons, mostly comprising<br />
hornbeams, oaks, and limes. Also, there are numerous plant<br />
habitats here, including plants typical for mountainous and<br />
northern regions and xerothermic southern plants. The bottoms<br />
and slopes of some of the canyons have been<br />
secured against erosion – this makes walking<br />
there and cycling safer and more enjoyable.<br />
These canyons have their local names thanks<br />
to which the forefathers of the inhabitants<br />
of nearby settlements were able to get to<br />
even the most remote part of them. In the<br />
canyons, numerous species of mushrooms<br />
can be found – and not only in autumn!<br />
Mushrooms of the morchellaceae family<br />
are rare but can be found here. Morchella<br />
esculenta, an edible species of mushroom, is<br />
strictly protected and listed in Czerwona lista<br />
grzybów wielkoowocnikowych zagrożonych w Polsce<br />
(Red list of mushrooms threatened with extinction<br />
in Poland). Its appearance is what tourists find<br />
strange, as the mushroom is not found in other<br />
regions of Poland.<br />
