3601. In the 2007 analysis,
the question dealing with the
time value of money showed
considerable improvement in
the post-test compared to the
pre-test, while the question
dealing with stock and bond
valuation showed very little improvement.
Human Resources
Pre-test/post-test of key constructs
in MGTS 3801 (Human
Resource Management)
Fall 2007
Three of the four targets
were met. The only item
that was not met was that
the pre-test pooled mean
score was not 50% of the
students answered correctly in
the pre-test. The faculty agreed
that these items should be reviewed
before the next round of
assessment–2010. Since the
test has only been administered
once, the HR faculty has agreed
to administer the test again before
the 2010 assessment period
to determine the stability of the
test. If, after the 2 nd administration,
it appears that these items
need modification, they will be
made before the 2010 assessment
period
prior knowledge (pretest)
and the extent
of eventual improvement
(post-test) as
suggested by the initial
assessment results.
Therefore, they
decided there was no
need to alter the allocation
of class time
among topics in FMIS
3601.
There were three
questions that had
post-test scores below
the target of 70%.
However, since the
post-test scores on
these three questions
were fairly close to
the 70% target, the
HR faculty decided to
increase curricular
emphasis on these
points, but not to engage
in large scale
changes in the curriculum
as a result of
these findings.
The proposed
changes needed in
the assessment measurement
will occur
prior to the next assessment
iteration,
scheduled for Fall
Semester 2010. This
new instrument will
be pre-tested during
Fall Semester 2009.
There is ongoing
monitoring and discussion
among faculty
teaching Human
Resource Management
regarding both
content and assessment
instrument.
These discussions did
not occur prior to assessment
activities
associated with Assurance
of Learning
standards.
Pre-test/post-test of key constructs
in FMIS 3301 (Production
Fall 2006
Only one of the four targets
were met (the pretest
pooled mean score
was less than 5).
The instructors of FMIS 3301 involved
in this assessment activity
with respect to the test instruments
which was used. They
