The demand and order book is very strong, with the actual product range complimenting the existing FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited portfolio. Our facility in Llangefni is now home to the new production and assembly line of all the OTTO product range, giving the company greater flexibility in demand and reaction time for our customers. Investment has been made in specialist jigs, toolings, painting and training for all the production personnel at Llangefni, which was previously dedicated to the installation of refuse bodies on chassis. With the OTTO product now being manufactured on site, reductions in delivery times are significant for the FAUN, OTTO or FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited combination. “We are delighted with the way the production is running and the speed at which it was set up and working,” explains Adrian Ward, Operations Director. “We are now looking at exporting the product, which is a true reflection on the quality of build at Llangefni and our ability at FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited to compete in the European market.” Adrian Ward REGENCY BATH REPEAT ORDER FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited are very pleased to announce that Bath and North East Somerset Council have recently taken delivery of their two FAUN Variopress II 15t Refuse Vehicles. Mounted on a DAF LF55 15t chassis supplied by Imperial Commercials, the Variopress II Curved 10cu bodies are fitted with the FAUN Control System which offers all the benefits customers expect from a state of the art CAN-bus control system. The vehicles were delivered in February to replace the existing two FAUN 15t Variopress Vehicles. In addition, FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited were also successful in retaining the Vehicle Maintenance Contract at the Midland Road depot looking after in excess of 30 vehicles. The council have been using FAUN Bodies for over 5 years. “We have been using Faun bodies for a number of years and we’re impressed with the quality and reliability” said Martin Hellyer, Technical Officer, Environmental Services, Waste Services at Bath & North East Somerset Council. Last year Bath and North East Somerset sent approximately 46,000 tonnes of waste to landfill sites. 177,700 people live there with approximately half living in the City of Bath making it more densely populated than the rest of the area. Bath and North East Somerset covers an area of 220 square miles (570 km2), of which two thirds is green belt. It stretches from the outskirts of Bristol, south into the Mendip Hills and east to the southern Cotswold Hills and Wiltshire border. “The FAUN Variopress 15t is great in towns and copes with the narrow access for the Waste Collection crews,” said Marshall Fleming, UK Sales Director. Prior to this Ben gained a National Diploma Distinction in Building Construction, covering a wide variety of subject from Architectural Design to Land and Building Surveying. His interests include football, mountain biking, tennis, and all forms of motorsport. During his time with our company Ben has gained a thorough understanding of account management in all its forms. He fully understand the processes involved from point of sale of the product through to aftersales and marketing and the important part this plays in the long term relationship required by the UK customer base. By using the experience he gained in dealing with large fleet replacements within the light commercial vehicle sector, he has been able to migrate to the role of Regional Account Manager within our company with some ease. Ben’s main role within the newly formed FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited is Regional Account Manager for Midlands & North which is an area covering customers based in the North West, Yorkshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire. Ben deals with company product ranges to the Municipal Market sector and assist our Commercial Department in dealing with some Private Sector customers based within his area. He is able to deal with all customer inquires and aftersales in a professional and detailed manner. He has become a key figure within the Municipal Sales Team and is always willing to help others within the team. Over the last few years Ben has secured major orders for our company in both body and lifter products.” FAUN ZOELLER (UK) LIMITED LAUNCHES NEW CATALOGUE FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited - the leading waste management systems manufacturer - has released its first brochure since its formation after the merger of FAUN and Zoeller in 2011. The catalogue has been created to help customers review the products more easily and it is the first time that the all company’s products have been collated in one document. It includes specification details of each product as well as detailing what they can be used for. Several new products are featured in the 32-strong range including the Mini Selectapress 50/50 or 70/30 and the Variopress Dualpower and Rotopress Dualpower. The Dualpower vehicles are the world’s first diesel-electric hybrid RCVs and can help reduce fuel consumption by up to a third. The Mini Selectapress can collect and separate two differing waste types and has been designed for inner city operations where excellent maneuverability is required. I was invited to attend in my capacity as CIWM Senior Vice President and I must say that my first thoughts were why me as I am a landfill man and RCVs had given me so much grief in my days as a landfill manager. Drivers always complaining about the state of my access roads and me countering that with landfill site roads are not the public highway and that they never will be. However putting all of that to one side I was extremely delighted with the day and it was a great pleasure to meet up with Simon Hyde, Chief Executive Officer of FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited, and his Commercial and Municipal team. Simon told us that innovation and new products are a huge part of FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited’s targeted growth, this together with the changes they have made, will undoubtedly place the company in a better position both in terms of their market share and financial performance. We had the opportunity to view the half a dozen brand new, or updated waste handling vehicles on show such as the CombiPress and SelectaPress which in themselves are all pretty tough acts to follow, but the star of the show had to be the FAUN Rotopress Dual Power hybrid RCV. The Viajet 6 Sweeper joins their already large fleet of FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited RCVs. FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited has had the dual power concept up-and-running for three years now and is about to announce the option on the Variopress as well. Malcolm Bates who provided the commentary for the day recalled driving the prototype in Aachen, Germany like it was yesterday. FAUN Zoeller (UK) Limited felt that there is such great potential for this innovation for the UK market that the Dual Power vehicle was brought over to the UK for the first time specifically for the Innovation Day events. The highlight of my day was not lunch as many would expect, although it was a very good one, but my short journey in the Rotopress Dual Power RCV.
