2.9 Serious incidents<br />
2.9.1 There have been 130 serious incidents, as classified by the UK Air Accidents<br />
Investigation Branch (AAIB), involving large aeroplanes over the ten year period.<br />
Figure 4.3 shows the annual number of serious incidents, broken down by class of<br />
aircraft.<br />

2.10 Occurrences<br />
2.10.1 There have been nearly 32,000 occurrences involving large aeroplanes reported<br />
between 1995 and 2004. This figure includes accidents, serious incidents and<br />
incidents reported through the MOR scheme. Only 1% of these occurrences are<br />
accidents or serious incidents.<br />
