This presentation will review its limitations, methodological pitfalls and alternative imaging modalities that may provide additive and useful information. Unusual Causes of Heart Failure and The Role Of Echo Echocardiography is the initial imaging modality in patients with heart failure. It is critical in determining the etiology of heart failure and guiding future management. Challenges in imaging and when not to operate The tricuspid valve can be difficult to image both by transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography. Tricuspid valve function depends highly on right ventricular conformation and function, and significant TR can occur in the case of RV dilation even with a structurally normal valve.
