He feels well. Is this rate control good enough? ICDs and Ventricular Tachycardia • AICD indications – what’s inappropriate in 2015? • Does patient age affect risk of death/rehospitalisation after primary ICD? • Management of VT/VF storm in advanced heart failure Some patients with low ejection fraction may not benefit from prophylactic ICD implantation. How can you identify such patients and not refer for consideration? Is patient age one of those adverse risks? VT/VF storm in advanced heart failure is difficult to successfully treat. We will discuss what not to miss and what to avoid. The indications for contrast are expanding, and as such a working knowledge of the clinical utility of contrast agents is essential. Historically quantification of the right ventricle has been variable. This presentation will give a standardized approach to the assessment of right ventricular size and systolic function as well as the assessment of severity of tricuspid regurgitation and non invasive assessment of right heart and pulmonary arterial pressures. 1100 – 1130 Sabe De, MD 1130 – 1200 Sherief Kamel, MD Assessment of Aortic and Mitral Regurgitation Methods for accurate determination of MR severity including PISA, ERO and regurgitant volume calculation will be reviewed.AR related calculations will be addressed based on contemporary valve guidelines. Pitfalls in calculation methods will be discussed. “Stress Echocardiography Fundamentals” Performing and interpreting a stress echo can be challenging.
