There is still one parent position vacancy,
please forward expressions of
interest to Glenn Fankhauser, College
Theo Niakolas
I am the proud father of 4 daughters –
two attend RSC at the western campus,
one attends RSC / RIA at the eastern
campus and one at Heany park
Primary School. I have lived in the
Rowville area for the past 20 years.
My family is involved in several local
clubs through the interests and activities
that my daughters participate in.
Past times include endure motor bike
riding, water-skiing and footy – in particular
the St.Kilda Football Club.
I run my own business ‘Argot Consultants’
– a Civil Engineering Consultancy
designing infrastructure in the transport,
urban, water and specialist engineering
fields.
Clement Teo
I am a practicing CPA public accountant
and financial adviser. In my earlier
career, I worked as an Executive
Engineer and Public Works Department
in Malaysia before I moved to
Melbourne with my family. I hold a
Bachelor Degree in Civil/Construction
Engineering, Master of Business in
Professional Accounting and a Diploma
in Financial Planning.
Although I have had no previous involvement
with school council, I hope
I can use the experience gained from
having put 3 of my children through
secondary school, to contribute to
making Rowville Secondary College an
even better school.
In addition I hope that my participation
on the school council may motivate
my remaining child in school to
do better in her grades as
well as in her social development.
Outside work I like to take
time out to play golf and tennis.
Monica Varcoe
My name is Monica Varcoe and I am
the mother of two children attending
Rowville Secondary College. I have a
great interest in our community, and
also for the future of the teenagers in
our society. I feel that the scope for
us to live in peace and harmony starts
with community involvement. So
here I am.
I have spent most of my working career
in purchasing, and more recently
have started to do temp. work, so as
to spend more time with my family
and enjoy my hobbies of gardening,
cycling and walking.
Actions sometimes speak louder than
words, so I hope appreciate you looking
upon this application favourably,
and allowing me to become a member
of this valued school.
Maddy Moore &
Portia Vandenberg
Year 7
Where did you go?
“We went to Ace High Ranch.”
What did you do?
“We did horseriding, flying fox which
was fun in a way, but a bit slow. We
did rock-climbing, giant swing—THAT
WAS FUN! Hmmm, archery, I was
pretty good at that…”
Where did you sleep?
“ We stayed in cabins, there were
about ten people in a cabin. We were
in the same cabin, because we got to
write down three people we
wanted to be with.
What else did you do at
night?
“We had a games night, and
we had a night walk which
was really scary because Mr
Hole told a scary story at
each reflector that we saw. Some
people thought they were fake, but
some people thought they were
true!”
What happened at the games night?
“We had to eat jelly out of a bowl
with no hands, pick up M&Ms with a
straw and carry them to a cup, and
we had to pop balloons, it was really
fun.”
And after lights out…
“We had a midnight snack! We told
everyone to bring lollies and we had a
whole cupboard full of lollies and
chocolate.”
What did you miss the most?
“My Mum and Dad.”
