Warriors Day Parade
The annual Warriors’
Day Parade
Council
Awards Dinner
took place at the
East York Community
Centre
on October 19,
2013. The event
is an awards
dinner to present
winners of the
Warrior’s Day
Parade held
during the CNE
in August. Many of the winners were from out of country and local
units.
LCol Greg Stasyna and RSM CWO of 32 Signal Regiment led the
32 Bde Group into the EX on behalf of the Brigade registering
Canadian Regular and Reserve Forces Marching Formations
event. For LCol Stasyna’s effort the group won first prize for
Warriors’ Day Parade – Canadian National
Exhibition August 17, 2013
This year the parade celebrated the 200th Anniversary of the
Battle of York and the 60th Anniversary of the Korean War
The parade and CNE
officials were blessed
with the fine weather, just
ideal for a military parade.
Warm, low humidity,
sunny and not a cloud
in the sky that continue
Also to commemorate
the 110 years
of Signals in the
CF, the Toronto
Signals Band had
the honour to lead
the annual parade
and honour section.
A sterling
performance.
throughout the day of the
parade.
Throngs of people witnessed
a CF contingent
of 32 Brigade Group
composed of various
members of the Brigade
marched through the
Princess’s Gates under
the leadership of LCol
Greg Stasyna CD, CO
32 Signal Regiment.
Well done Greg.
Armistice. Thousands of volunteers, including veterans, members
of CF, contingent from allied nations and citizens continue to make
the Warriors’ Day Parade possible year after year.
By all
accounts,
the parade
was
successfully
organized
and well
supported
by
many
veterans
and the
general
public.
