Notes
General: The chassis plates of the Ibs 491.10.29 give the chassis type as ‘491/2P/DA’. It is the chassis-only
version of the CityClass model, built in Spain and optimised for a double-deck body.
35/6: These was new as two of a batch of 8 similar coaches delivered to ATAC in 1997 as 1863-70 for tour
work, including the pre-open-top 110 route. 1867-9 passed to Trambus then were transferred to GiroTP,
Bologna as 2/1/3 10/05. Trambus also have/had as tour buses 1840/1 Neoplan N122/3 from 1999 and 1851
DAF SB4000 Dalla Via of 2004.
1842-7: These are the Trambus fleetnumbers and it has been suggested that the full batch was 1842-9. 1842,
the ‘trial bus’ for the venture, carried 372 in Rome for a time. It is known that Les Cars Rouges received 11 x
Vo B7L EL, in two batches, 365-72 and 373-5.There is photographic evidence of 1846 (789 PQB 75) carrying
that registration in Rome but equally clear evidence that Les Cars Rouge 370 carried 789 PDB 75 in Paris;
these might be one and the same and if so, they are 00646 / 37303. If the similarities are a co-incidence than
1846 is likely to be 01531 / 46303. We are still left with the need to confirm the registration of 1845 and to
relate it and that of 1847 to the known list from Paris as neither have a match, as well as confirming that
1848/9 were in Rome and if so, what their Les Cars Rouge identities were. In other words, help! For
completeness, the other Paris vehicles are believed to be 368 (738 PCH 75) 000644 37301, 369 (745 PCH
75) 000662 37306 & 371 (794 PDB 75) 000664 37308. A registration for 375 001531 46303 hasn’t been
reported.
T1-T3: these three and DD 927/92 DD, which don’t carry numbers, are used on the Archeobus tour. Previous
vehicles on that tour have come from the main ATAC/Trambus fleet. Those known to have been used are
1883 (AX 471 LW) MAN NM152 MAN B??D (one of 1871-84 second hand from Germany 1/98) and 4081 (BN
858 VS) MB Sprinter Newcar.
Green Line Tours S.p.A.
This national sightseeing agency has introduced its ‘Open Tour’ tour in competition with Trambus Open, although
there may be a link of some sort at operational level. A ‘Shuttle Tour’ also exists, using American-style ‘phoney
trolleys’ on Iveco lorry chassis.

Cityrama Italia S.R.L. / Rome Opentour
Cityrama initially ran a “Bus ‘n Boat Open Tour” using double-deck Neoplans from L’Open Tour of Paris (in which
Cityrama’s French parent has a 50% share). These have since been replaced and a full sightseeing tour
introduced. The tour was renamed Rome Opentour in the summer of 2006 but the actual operator is as yet
unclear.
