Group Classes Expand your musical knowledge and ability! Perfect for beginning
and intermediate students, these classes provide excellent instruction in a fun and supportive
group environment.
Milford Branch
GROUP PIANO FOR CHILDREN
7 to 9 years (Music School faculty)
Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Starting September 19
Formal piano lessons in a group setting!
Through movement, games and creative
discovery, children learn to play the piano
and read music from the very first lesson,
establishing a secure foundation for ongoing
piano study. Classes include music theory,
technique, sight-reading, composing and
ensemble playing, with strong emphasis on
expressive playing.
PREREQUISITE: Readiness assessment with
instructor; daily access to a
piano required
ENROLLMENT: Entire academic year
TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester
MATERIALS: To be purchased by student
INSTRUMENTAL DISCOVERY,
part I: VOICE & VIOLIN
7 to 11 years (Music School faculty)
Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Starting September 25
Identify your child’s musical interests and
strengths through this exploratory class. Each
class includes voice and violin instruction, as
well as games and activities that enhance
basic musicianship and music literacy.
ENROLLMENT: Fall semester only
TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester
MATERIALS: $50 per semester
INSTRUMENTAL DISCOVERY,
part II: flute & piano
7 to 11 years (Music School faculty)
Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.
Starting February 5
Children experience in-depth introductions
to the flute and piano. Each class includes
flute and piano instruction, as well as
activities appropriate for students who have
participated in Part I and for those who
haven’t.
ENROLLMENT: Spring semester only
TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester
MATERIALS: $50 per semester
CLASS PIANO FOR ADULTS I
Adults 18 years and up (Music School
faculty)
Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30 p.m.
Starting September 19
Perfect for the adult who has always longed
to play the piano but has little or no musical
experience. Students play music from the
very first lesson and work on sight-reading,
technique and expressive performance,
in addition to learning basic theory,
harmonization, improvisation, ensemble and
efficient practice skills.
PREREQUISITE: Telephone interview with
instructor; daily access to a
piano and time for regular
practice required
ENROLLMENT: Entire academic year
TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester
