Group Classes Expand your musical knowledge and ability! Perfect for beginning<br />

and intermediate students, these classes provide excellent instruction in a fun and supportive<br />

Milford Branch<br />

GROUP PIANO FOR CHILDREN<br />

7 to 9 years (Music School faculty)<br />

Wednesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.<br />

Starting September 19<br />

Formal piano lessons in a group setting!<br />

Through movement, games and creative<br />

discovery, children learn to play the piano<br />

and read music from the very first lesson,<br />

establishing a secure foundation for ongoing<br />

piano study. Classes include music theory,<br />

technique, sight-reading, composing and<br />

ensemble playing, with strong emphasis on<br />

expressive playing.<br />

PREREQUISITE: Readiness assessment with<br />

instructor; daily access to a<br />

piano required<br />

ENROLLMENT: Entire academic year<br />

TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester<br />

MATERIALS: To be purchased by student<br />

INSTRUMENTAL DISCOVERY,<br />

part I: VOICE & VIOLIN<br />

7 to 11 years (Music School faculty)<br />

Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.<br />

Starting September 25<br />

Identify your child’s musical interests and<br />

strengths through this exploratory class. Each<br />

class includes voice and violin instruction, as<br />

well as games and activities that enhance<br />

basic musicianship and music literacy.<br />

ENROLLMENT: Fall semester only<br />

TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester<br />

MATERIALS: $50 per semester<br />

INSTRUMENTAL DISCOVERY,<br />

part II: flute & piano<br />

7 to 11 years (Music School faculty)<br />

Tuesdays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.<br />

Starting February 5<br />

Children experience in-depth introductions<br />

to the flute and piano. Each class includes<br />

flute and piano instruction, as well as<br />

activities appropriate for students who have<br />

participated in Part I and for those who<br />

haven’t.<br />

ENROLLMENT: Spring semester only<br />

TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester<br />

MATERIALS: $50 per semester<br />

CLASS PIANO FOR ADULTS I<br />

Adults 18 years and up (Music School<br />

faculty)<br />

Wednesdays, 7:30-8:30 p.m.<br />

Starting September 19<br />

Perfect for the adult who has always longed<br />

to play the piano but has little or no musical<br />

experience. Students play music from the<br />

very first lesson and work on sight-reading,<br />

technique and expressive performance,<br />

in addition to learning basic theory,<br />

harmonization, improvisation, ensemble and<br />

efficient practice skills.<br />

PREREQUISITE: Telephone interview with<br />

instructor; daily access to a<br />

piano and time for regular<br />

practice required<br />

ENROLLMENT: Entire academic year<br />

TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester<br />
