Concerts<br />
& Events<br />
Each year The Music School of Delaware proudly<br />
hosts over 75 concerts, recitals and community<br />
events featuring Music School faculty, students<br />
and many special guests. An annual concert<br />
brochure provides details about the performance<br />
season, which runs from September through<br />
June. Programs are held at both branches and<br />
over half of the events are free of charge.<br />

and our own community through collaborative<br />
performances, art exhibitions and workshops.<br />
Wilmington Classical Guitar Society<br />
Amateur and professional musicians committed<br />
to promoting the classical guitar, its players and<br />
its music. Meets monthly.<br />
STUDENT EVENTS<br />
Student Recitals & Ensemble Concerts<br />
Including solo and chamber music student<br />
recitals, Suzuki Academy and Early Childhood<br />
events, and performances by all of the Music<br />
School’s orchestral, choral and small ensembles.<br />
Master Classes and Workshops<br />
Personalized small group instruction with Music<br />
School faculty and renowned guest musicians.<br />
ALUMNI RECITALS<br />
the Music School is activating opportunities<br />
to reconnect and celebrate our former<br />
students. This season we welcome back several<br />
accomplished former students to share their<br />
artistry on the Music School stage. Details will<br />
be announced in the fall.<br />
Family Concerts<br />
Designed to engage even the youngest children<br />
in musical adventures that will entertain the entire<br />
family and provide family-friendly opportunities<br />
for children to experience the magic of live music.<br />
Music Masters Concert Series<br />
Showcasing the talented Music School faculty<br />
and special guests in a series of themed<br />
concerts, from classical to jazz to premières of<br />
contemporary works.<br />
(Up to two complimentary tickets per Music<br />
Masters concert are available for faculty, students<br />
and their families. Tickets must be reserved at<br />
least one day prior to the performance. Please<br />
contact the front desk for more information.)<br />
Wilmington Community Orchestra<br />
A Music School orchestral ensemble for adults<br />
performing music from the standard symphonic<br />
and concerto repertoire, in addition to an<br />
annual concert featuring student winners of<br />
the Delaware Concerto Competition for Young<br />
Musicians. Conducted by Dr. Timothy Schwarz.<br />
PERFORMING ARTS<br />
PARTNERS<br />
Brandywine Harp Orchestra<br />
An ensemble of Celtic harpers, playing Celtic<br />
and traditional harp music. Directed by Music<br />
School harp faculty Janet Witman.<br />
Chesapeake Silver Cornet Brass Band<br />
A 35-piece British-style brass band playing a<br />
repertoire of orchestral works, marches, jazz,<br />
big band medleys, novelty numbers and hymns.<br />
Conducted by Dr. Russell Murray.<br />
