CLASS PIANO FOR ADULTS II<br />
Adults 18 years and up (Music School<br />
faculty)<br />
Mondays, 7:30-8:30 p.m.<br />
Starting September 17<br />
Designed for adults with basic piano skills —<br />
including reading treble and bass clefs and<br />
knowledge of basic rhythms, chords and<br />
scales (C, G, F) — this class emphasizes fluent<br />
reading, secure rhythm, controlled technique<br />
and expressive performance, in addition to<br />
music theory, sight-reading, harmonization,<br />
improvisation, ensemble and efficient practice<br />
skills.<br />
PREREQUISITE: Telephone interview with<br />
instructor; daily access to a<br />
piano and time for regular<br />
practice required<br />
ENROLLMENT: Entire academic year<br />
TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester<br />
MATERIALS: To be purchased by student<br />
PIANO ENSEMBLE<br />
All ages (Music School faculty)<br />
Mondays, 6:30-7:30 p.m.<br />
Starting September 17<br />
How often do you — a pianist — have the<br />
opportunity to play duets, trios and even<br />
quartets with other pianists? Learning to share<br />
an instrument or playing multiple instruments,<br />
students learn to play in an ensemble.<br />
PREREQUISITE: One year of piano<br />
instruction<br />
ENROLLMENT: Entire academic year<br />
TUITION: $184 per 15-week semester<br />
