A closer look at closure devices<br />

This workshop will deal with the use of arterial closure<br />
devices after peripheral and prior to aortic endovascular<br />
procedures.<br />
An overview of currently available closure devices for peripheral<br />
arterial and aortic interventions will be provided in a comprehensive<br />
and balanced manner. Indications and contraindications<br />
will be highlighted, as well as complications and how<br />
to avoid them. Further, all relevant tips and tricks for the proper<br />
use of closure devices during daily practice will be imparted.<br />
By the end of the workshop all participants should be able to<br />
understand the various principles of current devices as well as<br />
indications. The experience will be completed by the<br />
opportunity to test sample devices.<br />

technique for the successful use of a closure device<br />
- To become familiar with the currently available closure<br />
devices for peripheral and aortic interventions<br />
- To know the clinical results, potential pros and cons as well<br />

Second Announcement<br />
These Hands-on Workshops provide an overview of current<br />
embolization materials and techniques.<br />
A brief introduction is followed by workshop participants rotating<br />
around each of a series of tabletop demonstrations. Partici -<br />
pants will engage informally with instructors and try out various<br />
embolic materials for themselves on human and flow models.<br />
The sessions will cover the basic principles of embolization, the<br />
different types of embolic agents available, how to choose, prepare<br />
and deliver an appropriate embolic agent and how to avoid<br />
non-target embolization. The emphasis of the sessions will prima ri -<br />
ly be a hands-on practical approach where participants can handle<br />
and/or perform embolization with the various agents mentioned.<br />
