Application 

Packaging in bags 

The automatic chamber belt machines are designed to process all kinds of sealable pouches. 

Shrinkable materials can also be processed safely and reliably. 

A servo-controlled transport conveyor loads and unloads the vacuum chamber. For the 

decoupling of the loading and packaging procedure, MULTIVAC’s chamber belt machines 

can optionally be equipped with a separate infeed conveyor. 

MULTIVAC’s proven sealing technology guarantees the safe and secure sealing of the materials 

packed. This is specifically achieved by a high sealing pressure and precisely definable sealing 

temperatures. 

Different sealing and cutting units allow for the production of finished pouches in which 

excess pouch material is trimmed along the seal.

MULTIVAC hygienic design 

MULTIVAC chamber belt machines are designed to meet the highest hygienic standards. 

Hygienic design and the use of high-quality materials ensure reliable and fast cleaning. Design 

features such as smooth, bevelled surfaces without recesses, corners and edges contribute 

towards this. 

The interior of the machine has also been optimised for superior hygiene. Hoses and cables 

have been kept to a minimum and are, for the most part, housed inside the machine frame. 

The easy-to-open panels make the entire interior of the machine easily accessible for cleaning. 

The tilting chamber lid provides for safe and convenient access for all cleaning work. 

The transport conveyor can be slackened at the push of a button and can easily be removed 

for a thorough cleaning

MULTIVAC IPC 06 machine control. The graphically displayed HMI 2.0 user 

interface on a large touch screen allows for intuitive and safe operation, even by semi-skilled 

workers. Furthermore, the easy-to-understand visualization of the individual process steps 

permits the user to continuously optimise the overall process.

Application 

Maximum energy efficiency 

The components of the MULTIVAC chamber belt machines that are 

relevant to energy consumption, such as the drive system for the transport 

conveyor and the chamber lid, have been equipped with energyefficient 

electric drives. The number of pneumatic systems has been 

reduced to the bare minimum. 

The similarly consumption-optimised, adjustable cooling water circuit 

can be equipped with a water-recooling device as an option. 

This will eliminate the need to supply the machine’s cooling system 

with fresh water. 

Optimised conveyor system 

The conveyer belt can be slackened at the push of a button and can 

easily be removed for thorough cleaning. An innovative system to 

control the belt tension ensures that the transport conveyor always 

remains in the optimum position, even during continuous operation. 

Powered by a servo motor, the transport conveyor progressively 

adjusts the belt speed. This gradual acceleration and deceleration 

helps to prevent the packaged products from slipping. 

The transport conveyor can be optionally equipped with rolling-stop 

bars, which guarantee the reliable packaging of cylindrical products or 

products with a small contact area. 

For the decoupling of the loading and packaging procedure, the chamber 

belt machines B 510 and B 610 can be optionally equipped with a 

separate infeed conveyor. This optimises the deployment of personnel 

when loading the chamber belt machine.

Reliable sealing systems 

The chamber belt machines can be equipped with various MULTIVAC sealing systems, 

which ensure that durable seal strength is achieved with various packaging materials. 

The chamber belt machines B 510 and B 610 are fitted with water-cooled sealing bars as part 

of their standard equipment. These ensure the reliable processing of packaging materials that 

require a particularly precise sealing temperature. They simultaneously prevent an increase of 

temperature in the sealing bars during continuous operation and the heating up of the housing, 

which is particularly undesirable in cooled production environments. 

Double-seam sealing 2× 3 mm on top 

With two parallel seals, MULTIVAC’s double-seam sealing 

guarantees particularly reliable and durable sealing of packaging 

materials, even under demanding conditions as well as packaging 

with shrink pouches. 

Single-seam sealing 1× 5 mm on top 

A 5-mm-wide seal, a dimension that is consequently very stable, 

is ideal for sealing pouches made of standard materials reliably 

and safely. 

Single-seam sealing 1× 5 mm top and bottom 

Heat is simultaneously applied from above and below the sealing area, 

ensuring highly reliable sealing results. This is particularly useful when 

using film pouches with high film strength as well as with pouches 

of aluminium composite materials.

Advantages 

Temperature controlled impulse sealing 

Temperature controlled impulse sealing guarantees a consistently high 

and reproducible seal quality, even during continuous production at 

high cycle rates. Temperature distribution that can be adjusted for the 

relevant packaging material, as well as repeat accuracy of approximately 

±5° C, make consistently reliable and durable sealing of even more 

challenging packaging materials possible. Consequently, temperature 

controlled impulse sealing contributes significantly to an increase in 

process reliability. This configuration option is available for the B 510 

and B 610 chamber belt machines. 

Sealing height adjustment 

Height-adjustable sealing bars permit the easy adjustment of the sealing bar 

height to the goods being packaged. This guarantees perfect evacuation 

and sealing results. The available sealing bar heights depend on the 

sealing system with which a machine has been equipped. In particular, the 

tilting chamber lid of the MULTIVAC chamber belt machines simplifies 

the manual and semiautomatic changing process. 

Fixed sealing bar height 

When this option is chosen, the chamber belt machine is equipped with a 

fixed sealing bar height that cannot be changed subsequently. Optionally, 

the front and the rear sealing bars can be supplied with different heights. 

Manual adjustment of the sealing bar height 

The sealing height is adjusted by manually changing the sealing bars. 

Semiautomatic adjustment of the sealing bar height 

The sealing bar height is set by manually changing the spacers in the 

bottom section of the chamber. The corresponding sealing bar height 

adjustment in the chamber lid is automatic. 

Automatic adjustment of the sealing bar height 

The sealing bar height is set on the operating terminal of the machine control 

and can be retained in the recipe storage. The upper and lower parts 

of the sealing bars are automatically brought into the relevant position.

B 310 chamber belt machine – a compact system 

The B 310 is a compact chamber belt machine that combines all the advantages of 

MULTIVAC’s chamber belt machine technology in a space-saving machine design. 

The B 310 thereby enables efficient packaging, even in a limited space, 

as well as integration with very compact packaging lines.
