As powerful motorized spindles became available in the early 90s, MAG<br />
Hessapp, a traditional builder of vertical turning machines, recognized their<br />
potential and developed – as one of the first machine tool manufacturers<br />
in the world – an inverted spindle vertical turning machine – the launch of<br />
the <strong>DVH</strong> series. Since their successful introduction to the market in 1991<br />
the <strong>DVH</strong> range of vertical turning machines has been continuously improved<br />
and perfected. MAG Hessapp today offers an extensive range of invertedspindle<br />
vertical turning machines to satisfy a wide variety of different<br />
requirements.<br />

This <strong>DVH</strong> vertical turning machine with inverted spindle is suitable<br />
for parts up to 750 mm. The pick-up concept enables fully-automatic<br />
machining due to automated loading and unloading of workpieces.<br />

Machine Units and Options<br />
for Your Individual Machine<br />
Driven Tools<br />
Turning, drilling, milling and tapping in only one chucking offers the best<br />
machining quality. There is no setup required between operations and the<br />
number of fixtures required is reduced.<br />
Part Gauging<br />
For part gauging within the machine the motorized spindle, with the part,<br />
contacts a measuring probe. Gauging outside of the machine has the<br />
advantage that measuring can take place within the machining time, thus<br />
increasing productivity.<br />

Workpiece Temperature Control<br />
Before starting a cycle the actual part temperature is measured by means<br />
of a contact-less sensor and transmitted to the CNC as an off-set value.<br />

By using software developed by MAG Hessapp the operator is able to gauge<br />
new tools with extreme precision and to correct them in the tool magazine.<br />

Tool breakage and wear control<br />
In order to increase their up-time <strong>DVH</strong> machines can be equipped with a<br />
cutting edge and collision monitoring system. In case of tool-breakage,<br />
excessive tool wear or collision an emergency shutdown module stops the<br />
feed axes instantly.<br />
