FAT HARRY’S
Cooking Column
by Harry Coleman
On August 7, 2011 Adnane Mezouar arrived at
RDU from Morocco as part of the YES program
having earned a scholarship through the US Dept.
of State.
The Goreman Family of Granville County had
hosted 8 students before choosing Adnane’s profile.
“We were very excited to learn more about Morocco
this year,” she said.
“We encouraged
Adnane to join sports
at Granville Central
High School so he
chose to try American
football for the first
time, he became part
of the wrestling team
next and decided to
take a break from
sports for the
Spring.”
“We enjoyed
seeing Granville
County through
Adnane’s eyes during
the year and hearing
how some things
Adnane Mezouar
were the same as in Morocco while other things
were very different,” she added.
Through family trips, daily life activities, school
and community involvement the Goreman family
added Adnane as their newest son.
“We’ve grown to be very close to him. Hosting
a CIEE student has been very rewarding for our
family this year and we encourage other Granville
area families to also take advantage of this
wonderful opportunity by choosing a student
through the website at www.ciee.org/highschool.
“One of Adnane’s final activities here was to
attend the Butner Chicken Pickin’ which he really
enjoyed.” We will definitely miss Adnane and stay
in touch with him as much as possible.”
If you would like more information about
hosting a student, please contact Joy Goreman at
Your Week Ahead Horoscope
June 28, 2012 - July 4, 2012
by Lasha Seniuk
ARIES (March 21-
April 19): Land on your
feet. A few shakeups
from the past week could
leave you up in the air.
Rest assured that, like a
cat, you won’t fall down
no matter what changes
or pressures are brought
to bear this week.
TAURUS (April 20-
May 20): Nurture the
promptings of moral
sense. In the week
ahead, those who want
to win at all costs may
suggest ways to take
advantage of loopholes.
Stick to high moral
ground, even if it seems
unpopular.
GEMINI (May 21-
June 20): Open the
fortune cookie and read
the message, but take it
with a grain of salt.
Enjoy assurances that
things are going well in
the week ahead.
However, this is not a
good week to launch
initiatives.
CANCER (June 21-
July 22): Fixate on finetuning
friend and foe. In
the week to come, don’t
get distracted by
someone’s charm. Those
who help you are not
always your friends and
those who oppose you
are not always enemies.
LEO (July 23-Aug.
22): You don’t need to
climb Jacob’s ladder to
heighten experiences.
There may be more than
one instance during the
week ahead when you
will be tempted to shake
things up just to show
your importance.
VIRGO (Aug. 23-
Sept. 22): If you wait for
perfect conditions,
nothing would ever be
achieved. But in the
upcoming week, starting
a key undertaking under
poor conditions will only
slow you down. Hold off
on initiatives.
LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct.
22.): Virtue in the
absence of opportunity is
hardly a moral triumph.
It may be easy for you to
criticize others unless
SCORPIO (Oct. 23-
Nov. 21): There are no
dress rehearsals for life.
In the week to come, you
might be faced by
challenges that you are
completely unprepared to
handle. Don’t make
crucial decisions until you
are sure of your part.
SAGITTARIUS (Nov.
22-Dec. 21): The wise
does at once what the fool
does at last. You have
been procrastinating, so
your money seems to seep
out of your pocket. In the
week ahead, put a stopper
on a financial drain.
CAPRICORN (Dec.
22-Jan. 19): Get behind
the eight ball before the
eight ball knocks you out
of place. In the week to
come, you might find that
strains and stresses take
their toll. Avoid making
any crucial changes or
decisions.
AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-
Feb. 18): If you hike in
the wild, be prepared to
wrestle a bear. An
exploration of the
unknown could put you
up against something
bigger than yourself.
Stick to what you know in
the week to come.
PISCES (Feb. 19-Mar.
20): There is no shame in
being a geek when a
geeky problem arises. The
dictionary is a good tool
that you shouldn’t be
ashamed to use in the
week ahead. Verify the
facts before committing.
