The International School of Azerbaijan HOMEWORK- POST-16 PROGRAMME Psychology, History and Economics maintain subject specific requirements Regular revision is expected FREQUENCY OF ASSESSMENT Psychology, History and Economics maintain subject specific requirements Diploma Examination style tests at varying frequency Regular short assessments and quizzes PROVISIONS FOR ELS STUDENTS In-class support Visual aids for students during discussions Lists of pertinent vocabulary Collaboration work with ELS department (sharing unit planners and extended activities in ELS classtime) Allowing use of electronic and other dictionaries Allowing use of mother tongue research/articles Extra time allowance and occasional ELS teacher support on quizzes and tests Spelling and grammar errors has no affect on criteria marks for ELS students (for Criterion D organization and presentation marks in particular) PROVISIONS FOR LEARNING SUPPORT STUDENTS Some students meet LS coordinator to aid with time-management and other skills but this does not affect Humanities class time Modified summative assessment expectations Time allowance for tests/quizzes Extra time to aid with organization and homework diary maintenance Collaboration work with LS department Liaising with homeroom teacher to aid with organizational and time-management skills PLACEMENT POLICY Currently all students attend MYP humanities STUDENT PORTFOLIOS A folder is kept in the classroom with a copy of the criteria, samples of formative assessments, the summative assessment tasks and the marks – some information will be kept in the MYP portfolio (with the homeroom teacher) at the end of the year 21
