Natural Tie Dye<br />

Since the beginning of civilization, humans have used natural<br />

dyes to color fabrics and create art. You can learn this ancient<br />

art form by bringing a t-shirt from home and dying it using<br />

Celebrate “Take a Child Outside” week with this special<br />

two-park scavenger hunt. Pick up a scavenger hunt form at<br />

Martin Park Nature Center or the Will Rogers Gardens (3400<br />

NW 36th) and seek out natural treasures in both parks. You<br />

can also explore inside with our nature puppet show at 10 a.m.,<br />

10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.<br />

What can you make from a milk jug? Find out during America<br />

Recycles Day! Bring a gallon milk jug and upcycle it into a<br />

piggy bank or watering can. Don’t forget to also bring a<br />

20 oz plastic bottle with a lid we can turn into a backyard<br />

birdfeeder. Let’s have some recycled fun!<br />

SUPERHERO DAY<br />

Do you have an animal Superhero? Batman, Squirrel Girl, or<br />

Wolverine? Learn about some superheroes in nature as we<br />

explore how their animal inspirations are so comic-book cool!<br />

You can test your super skills while daring to cross our “lava”<br />

pit, lift superhero sized bar bells, and use your super mind to<br />

write your own comic book.<br />
