Natural Tie Dye

Since the beginning of civilization, humans have used natural
dyes to color fabrics and create art. You can learn this ancient
art form by bringing a t-shirt from home and dying it using
natural plant materials.

Animal Terrarium Design

Want to keep a small reptile or amphibian at home? Learn the
basics of building a living terrarium suitable for plant and animal
life. We’ll talk soil media, water, plant selection and more. Each

Celebrate “Take a Child Outside” week with this special
two-park scavenger hunt. Pick up a scavenger hunt form at
Martin Park Nature Center or the Will Rogers Gardens (3400
NW 36th) and seek out natural treasures in both parks. You
can also explore inside with our nature puppet show at 10 a.m.,
10:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.

What can you make from a milk jug? Find out during America
Recycles Day! Bring a gallon milk jug and upcycle it into a
piggy bank or watering can. Don’t forget to also bring a
20 oz plastic bottle with a lid we can turn into a backyard
birdfeeder. Let’s have some recycled fun!
SUPERHERO DAY

No registration required
Do you have an animal Superhero? Batman, Squirrel Girl, or
Wolverine? Learn about some superheroes in nature as we
explore how their animal inspirations are so comic-book cool!
You can test your super skills while daring to cross our “lava”
pit, lift superhero sized bar bells, and use your super mind to
write your own comic book.
