Dementia is a syndrome caused by a slow progressive brain disease. Features are a variety of
high-level functional disorders, involving memory, thinking, orientation, understanding,
computing, judgment, language and learning ability. In the treatment of dementia, we have a lot of
ways, such as disease model research, gene knockdown method, genome engineering using the
crispr cas9 system, etc. Here a new study
A new study from the University of Rostock, Germany, found that the month of birth affects
people with dementia. Although this effect may be small compared with other risk factors such as
obesity, it may be a fact that affects the cognitive health of the next several decades in the first few
months of life.
Gabriele Doblhammer and Thomas Fritze of the University of Rostock in Germany, had studied
the data from the country's largest public health insurer — the public's local Health Insurance
Company. The data involved nearly 150,000 people aged 65 years and older. The study found that
those who were born between June and August have less rate than those who were born between
December and February. The risk of developing dementia in other months is between the two.
However, this effect does not have any meaning on astrology. In contrast, Gerard van den Berg, an
economist at the University of Bristol, studies the effects of the economic environment on health,
said the birth month is a sign of environmental conditions such as weather, nutrition, etc.
For example, the baby born in the summer faced with a lack of experience in the respiratory tract
infections the first summer. In the past, the baby born in spring and summer has just been in the
late autumn harvest of fresh fruits and vegetables, most of the supply has been exhausted. The
firewood burning or heating coal pollution may also cause certain influence.
Evidence from other studies suggests that these factors will affect the metabolism and the immune
system, increasing the risk of diseases such as diabetes, obesity, hypertension, etc.. Doblhammer
and Fritze's findings confirm that this is also true for dementia.
